Hi, possibly the wrong place for this, but in the middle of a Westeros game. Currently browser is pulling 1.5 GB of memory...

This interface really isn't geared up for these sorts of games!

*Edit: using Unity version, Chrome, Win 10

Game link?

EDIT: To get the gamelink in unity, open settings -> full settings and copy it from there. Alternatively grab it from flash.

EDIT: for comperision https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=13451732 is using ~ 1.5GB in my browser (also Chorme) and in flash ~ .5 GB.

^On Firefox 57, I get 1,850MB memory usage (according to Task Manager) on Windows 10 using Unity for the game in question, but runs smoothly.

The game became very sluggish and unresponsive, to the point that even in a 10 minute turn, I struggled to deploy all my troops and started randomly dumping them wherever I could just to avoid being booted.

At the start of each turn it was not so bad. But as more and more troops were deployed and orders set, it got progressively slower and less responsive.

Often it would not fully register that I had clicked to attack, or to deploy.

Perhaps memory usage wasn't the problem, but part way through the game, Chrome popped up with a message saying it needed to allocate more memory to it, which required a restart of the browser.

After that, it seemed *a little* smoother, but nowhere near acceptable.

The PC spec is a top end Developer PC (24GB ram and a shed load of fast processors) so that really ought not to be the problem.

I probably should move this to the developer forum...

Try refreshing once in a while. That usually makes the game faster.

My Chrome installation (32bit, vers 62.0.3202.94) has balked at running the Unity client saying it can't support the memory requirements for it.

"Sorry, Unity has run into its memory limit. Click the button below to increase the memory limit to 2048 mb, or refresh your browser to try again."

I get that message upon completion of SP level 1 (Time to Take a Risk). I can only imagine how it responds with more complex multiplayer games...

Attempting to increase the storage fails with a note saying that the browser could not allocate enough memory for Unity. Using 1gb of memory for a game seems a bit overkill, no?

Mind you, I have an older laptop with only 4GB RAM (plus 8GB SSD virtual memory) so that certainly could be a contributing factor

Yeah, either post your feedback here {I have a link here in my text, but it dosn't show up in the post?
Well you know the thread} https://www.warzone.com/Forum/286312-seeking-feedback-2 or submit a bug report here https://www.warzone.com/ReportBug

EDIT: also know that you can change storage for unity here https://www.warzone.com/ChangeUnityWebGL . May or may not be relevant. (I think it is relevant for Richard Sharpe at least)

That being said, you shouldn't hit 2048 mb on level 1. Something is up there.

TBest, it would seem I'm currently on 1024 (webassembly) and the browser/computer won't support the 2048 option. Basically, the Unity version is unplayable on my computer as of now.

Note, I'm hitting 1024 on SP level 1, specifically upon completion when it goes to load the post-match statistics page. Can't test the 2048 case.

@Sharpe, that is bad. Have you tried MP? Since the AI runs client side in SP that is what I would suspect you have issues with. Unity should be playable even in the lowest memory setting for small games (at least it is in MP).

I tried to set it to 256 and do lv 1. Seems that the first turn take ages to progress in webGL.... and I guess I will get an error or crash or timeout at some point from the low memory.

EDIT: In theory Automatic is fine, but I guess you are free to play around and tell FIzzer what you observe. Particularly given that SP seems unplayable for you.

EDIT: I can play lv 1 on 512 no problem, with no lag in my browser.

I have experienced the same problem while playing big maps (either westeros or big us map). Several times got a message popping up that unity has run out of memoryspace and had to reboot everything to get it working again

TBest, what browser you using? Firefox 58?

I should clarify that memory usage was set to Auto. It asked me to increase to 2048 and when I did so, it failed and told me to downshift to 1024 Webassembly, thus the above statement.

I haven't done any MP outside of the Android app since it's so unresponsive and slow to load on my PC that I figured it wouldn't be worth the frustration.

I was effectively already done with the game, the Unity transition is just the last push by the game to oust me.

My recommendation is using a browser that uses less resources.
I have an overclocked AMD 8370 running at 4.5 GHz with 16GB of DDR3-1600 memory.
Chrome already uses a large chunk of my cpu and memory when not playing games, so throwing unity on top of it makes it worse.

For me Opera and Firefox have been the smoothest experience.
Edge also uses very little memory and CPU, but runs worse than chrome.

Just tried the Firefox version. RAM usage jumped to 3.5Gb...

Something really wrong going on here.
