https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opinion_polling_for_the_German_federal_election,_2017

Above is the polling for the German election on September 24th.

My thoughts:

CSU/CDU = Center-right
SPD = Center-left
Greens = SJWs
FDP = Libertarian/classical liberal
AfD = American Republican party circa 2000 (all parties have ruled them out of coalition)
The Left = Self-described Communists (all parties have ruled them out of coalition)

If any of you live in Germany then chime in. Personally, I like the AfD but would vote for Merkel's CSU because the AfD is never getting into coalition.

According to polling, the CSU/CDU will crush the fractured left and form a coalition with FDP or SPD.

If you aren't from Germany then what party do you think will serve your country best?

Likeliest governments are CDU + SPD or CDU + Green + FDP. All else will not have the majority.

Is NPD still a thing or is it just an insignificant party?

They won 1 seat in European parliament in 2014.

In 2014 the Constitutional Court ruled that the 5% and then then 3% electoral threshold were unconstitutional. These thresholds were keeping out the neo-nazi party.

What? What does that have to do with America? I think you mean Alternative für Deutschland instead.

@The Cruelest; There is still a treshold of 5% for the elections in Germany.

I disagree with your analisis that the Green Party in Germany is equivalent to SJWs. As a matter of fact, the Parliamentary Greens are now closer to the CDU/CSU when it comes to political positions than the SPD, even though their voters are a bit more to the left than the actual party.

My thoughts for the German election? The CDU will win again, by a huge margin. Good economic status, a solid politics record, a balanced position and a very capable leader all at once just make them unbeatable.

Merkel is just a strategic genius, she makes very calculated decisions that end up working very well for her almost everytime. If you take out some of her previous stances on refugee policies (which she ended up changing later), it's a no-fault for more than a decade.

Under her, the CDU has managed to appeal to most germans, and get their repeated support. She balances left/right positions very well. Germany will open it's arms to help the refugees in need (left), but they must learn how to speak german (right). The bungestad will vote for gay marriage (left), but I oppose it (right).

Basically Merkel's CDU just occupied the hole center of the political spectrum, from the Schroeder's SPD center-left position to the conservative christian one. She is running with a "You know me and my record", "Stability", "No experiments and no surprises" campaign. Martin Schult (SPD) even complained that she wasn't being offensive enough and wasn't running a "proper political campaign".

Sjw is an American concept so it is pretty aparent that the Greens likely cant be that. The Greens is a german Thing whit its own history. Afd is nothing like the republic party in 2000. If i did not know any better, one could think that germany was not the US

No, I am 100% serious. I have never heard of an American party in Germany. Furthermore the abbrevation AfD stands for Alternative für Deutschland (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alternative_for_Germany). Why would there be a such a party anyway?

Sorry Cata. yes. I know that it is called Alternative for Germany. I was researching them and I found they were
1. Against gay marriage
2. Against Climate alarmists
3. Support family values

Anyways it reminded me of Republican Party in America around 2000 AD. Thats all.

In contrast to the AfD, The Left wasn't ruled out for coalition by all parties. If it's possible to have an coalition with SPD, Left and Green after the election, than i'm pretty sure that this is going to happen. Currently it looks very unlikely to happen, through since the SPD dropped to much in contrast to a few months ago. The Left aren't also self described communists. Parts of them are, but realistically the party as a whole has more a socalist character and program.

Looking at possible results i think there are only 2 options. Either we will get CDU/CSU and SPD again or it's going to be CDU/CSU and FDP. There might be small chances for CDU/CSU and Green, but realistically i highly doubt that the CSU will agree to a coalition with the Green, if they have the option to form one with the FDP.

It is really frustating. Damn old people! If only 18-30 year olds were allowed to vote, green would have 14% and AFD would be lower than 5%. With retired people (65+) green would be lower than 5% and the Conservatives would have absolute majority. It is not okay to let rotting corpses decide MY future...

Me too, but such stupid populism works as we could see in other elections (f.ex. Trump).

Btw. I reread my statement and i have to correct myself. The Left wants a democratic socialism. That's different to pure socialism.

socialism is a economic system, so it is not opposite to democracy or any other political system, like capitalism also can exist under various political systems
