women have...

-the privilege of choosing to bear children without being held responsible for them(abortion adoption safe drop sites)in the same way men currently are.

-the privilege of voting without having to register for the draft

-the privilege of being viewed as a minority group even though women are a majority of the voters a majority of the employed and a majority of college grads, while enjoying all the "extra's" that come with being viewed as a minority.

-the privilege of having Domestic Violence resources available to you as a woman while men who experience DV have nothing.

-the privilege of having hundreds of gendered government offices working on your issues.

-the privilege of having your own gendered arm of the UN representing you.

-I can go on and on and on, dare I say it? * women really need to check their privilege.....*

I found this recently and I think it is the best argument for MRAs and MTGOW. Any thoughts?

Yeah those are real problem that affect men but what is the point exactly? If it's that men have a lot of issues too then sure but feminists aren't denying that. In fact, feminists want to get rid of gender roles which would expel many of these issues in theory. It's only the feminists who say men have it way easier in life than women do who you should take issue with but most sane people know that men and women both have it harder than each other in different ways (for their sex).

Honestly those issues you point out in the second paragraph are more generalisations then they are valid arguments. Take for example this:

-Women hit men > OK. Men hit Women > Evil

This is the most absurd generalisation I've ever seen and it has no seemingly truth behind it. Why in the world would hitting men be more considered normal than hitting women. Hitting men is not ethically normal at all. It is the equal offense to hitting a man or a woman. Your illicit argument is worthless.

Anyway going back to the statistics

Injuries on the Job (2007)
Women – 36%
Men – 64%

a simple explanation is that men are more predominant to work in physical hard labour jobs such as a construction builder (98% male), dock labourer (99% male) and industrial labourer (I have no statistics on this)
Men are physically more capable of doing these jobs than women by the virtue of their hormonal differences. Women on the contrary are more predominant in the care sector and are more reluctant to have jobs such as a nurse (92%), a retirement worker (no statistics), therapist (92%), dental hygeniest (98%)

Deaths from HIV/AIDS (2004)
Women – 3,357
Men – 8,756

HIV/AIDS is more prevalent among homosexual men and is spread by sexual acts. It's such a plague that the majority of people dying from AIDS are homosexual, and explains the gender difference.

Women Only – Office, Projects and Programs 70+ – Funds – $100,000,000,000
Men Only – None – $0

that $100,000,000,000 number is hillariously funny. It's equal to the entire gdp of Croatia. Sad fact is that this number has no source whatsoever and is therefore incorrect

Average Hours Worked Per Week (2010)
Women – 36.1
Men – 40.2

Women are more reluctant to work part-time. This explains the gap. If you'd exclude women that do part-time you would have more or less the same outcome for both men and women

I could challenge some more statistics on your list but I'm too deprived to write another wall of text. Anyways I'd not blame everything on gender roles. It's far more complex than that. However, the education system definitely can be fixed if you abolish the gender roles

This all basically comes down to this. Do we want to eliminate gender roles or do we not?

Belgian Gentleman made good points. Men are biologically more equipped to work physically intensive jobs. Women are biologically more equipped to work social and nurturing jobs, and that's why we have those gender disparities in employment. Do we want to get rid of that and create 50/50 parity between these jobs? I don't think so.

The reason it's usually considered worse to hit a woman than a men is because women are thought of as the weaker, more fragile and more emotional sex. I'm not gonna say this isn't the case from my own experiences. Men are definitely thought of as stronger even when they're not. Men also kinda have this drive to save women in need. Do we want to get rid of that too, so that people will care less if a woman is abused by a man? I don't think that's good either... :d

For suicide. Men commit suicide more, but women attempt it much more frequently. Depression affects women slightly more than men, but I know an MRA would never want to admit that so they go around parroting the suicide statistic and ignore the full story. For Breast Cancer / Prostate Cancer, I have read that men are less likely to see a doctor or seek medical help than women. There are many reasons why it makes sense to me that breast cancer receives almost twice the funding.

I can go on forever too but I'm gonna do other things. :p

^^^And I hope you aren't too autistic to not be blinded by your own reason

Wars are not natural, they are a human construct.

Take a look at (most) mammals.

Do males have to give birth? Do they have to take care of, feed and teach their cubs for some time? No. They just spread their seeds and fuck off to find food. Hell, male lions almost never hunt and get most of the food.

I'm not saying males have it better than females. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. Females don't have to fight over mating privileges, and males don't have to take care of cubs.

You are making a huge generalization, as always

actually about the cancer rates

men are more likely to die from disease or cancer because of hormonal differences. The female hormone is more immune to diseases than its male counterpart. This is scientific

Male nature is high risk high reward. The wealthiest most powerful humans in history have generally been men. Men also face harsher conditions: they are expected to work the most dangerous jobs, die in battle, and ultimately take the fall when their empires are destroyed. There are numerous historical examples of cultures killing the men of conquered people and absorbing their women.

There are endless alternative systems that can be planned on paper but this is the unavoidable nature of the male sex. Moral arguments do not affect reality. The ethical solution is to avoid intellectual dishonesty and allow the sexes to fulfill their most comfortable roles.

quantity means victory at all costs. The pinnacle of quantity over quality would be a "civilization" so-to-speak, of bacteria, which very well might prevail after higher life forms disappear.

But such a "civilization" would be completely pointless, lacking any substance and reproducing for the sake of further reproduction.

Interesting debate. I will have to side with "Some gender roles are obsolete and some aren't and will never go away."

Furthermore Belgian made the best points. We don't need to have 50/50 representation or even 80/20 in roofing jobs, ect. However, I think that the men need to realize that they will be systematically discriminated against if they make certain life choices.

If we just abolish affirmative action and make women have to sign up for the draft to get federal benefits then 99% of these problems will be solved. Even though current gender roles discriminate against men they are necessary due to the biological inferiority of women.

Transhumanism is definitely a possibility but until that happens I will hold the above views.
