To Modified Medium Earth.

The Earth map pros:
- Sentimental value? Is this the first map made on wl? I don't know. Does anyone even want it to be default?
Cons:
- Imbalanced.
- Every time I create a new game I have to change the map(REALLY ANNOYING)
- even worse, if I create a new game to test something and didn't notice the map is Earth, the game is now ruined. I have to decide, do we play on an imbalanced map or do we VTE and start over?

Modified Medium Earth pros:
- Balanced
- Used in the 1v1 ladder and multiple competitive leagues
Cons:
- there can be an argument that another map can be set as default, that anything is better than Earth. But for now, I think this is the best choice.

Yes, I know about user voice but I ran out of votes and fizzer can most likely make this change in less than 5 minutes .

I just want others to voice their opinion in this thread. And the default template to be changed.

Well, to me, I don't care too much about which map the template uses. However, the map sure could use an update. Imbalance issues can always and should always be fixed by the map creator. Template creators can change bonus values, but they shouldn't have to. So I think the map needs an update more than the template.

I agree with the main idea. Here's another argument: Strategic 1v1 is the template used in auto-games (excluding the map of the week). This confused me a lot the first time I've set up my own game because I thought the default "Earth" template was "Strategic 1v1"...

In fact, here's an even better idea: you could set, in your account settings, a "default" template. Whenever you create a new game, that template would be there instead of Earth.

So I'd assume those were the first maps, not Bracketology...

Honestly, i think it depends with how much people you play with.

I know; I just mean that if you look at the chronological order of maps, Bracketology comes last. Besides, Old Earth has been retired. That still doesn't explain Small Earth...but whatever.

acctully old earth was the first map but has been removed since although there is an exploiet to get.

Creating a new game using the template/settings of an old game isn't really an exploit...

the original map with the ID=1 probably got removed or something

when it did, it opened up the slot for bracketology to take

besides, WL would have headed down a very different direction had bracketology actually been the first map
