It's pretty much an apples to oranges comparison since the national vote is used literally zero elections. It's not used in congressional elections, senate elections, local elections, and of course presidential elections. I don't get why everyone is insisting that the national vote be used in presidential elections when it is literally used nowhere else.

Using an indirect system to elect your president only penalizes candidates who fail to appeal to a wide geographic base, which can certainly be said of clinton:

The U.S is not and has never been a direct democracy. If you want to change that, the time to talk is between elections and not directly after your side loses.
