Hello I'm the clan manager of NWO.

Recently there has been some drama / issues involving my other CMs, and I am now the only real leader of the clan. I will refer to the CMs (clan managers) who left / declined their duties as CM1 and CM2.

CM1 has done a lot for this clan for quite a long time now, while CM2 was more new to the clan but also contributed a bit.

CM1 really skilled and had a direction for NWO, and he was involved with most of our lineup today, as well as most of our projects, tutoring, clan league activities and skype activity.

CM2 I would say is one of the best players on WL. He has also had some prior experience as a CM in a past clan and he could have brought a lot to the table to help NWO which I really believe would have happened, but some dramatic events that occurred caused him to step down.

CM1 joined Hydra to become a CM there for personal reasons. He loves NWO and still contributes a lot and he never truly retired from CM, but he felt he belonged in Hydra and that it would be easier for him to manage that clan since he would be working with other CMs and would have less of a burden to carry I believe.

So now I am looking for another CM because NWO needs direction, and with both CMs gone we don't have that direction. I have always been concerned with activity, tournaments, and real time, but I don't have much direction for the clan unfortunately, so I am writing this just to know if there are any natural leaders out there who are interested in co-leading the clan to make it something great with a direction. If anyone is interested you can write here or you can send me a private message.

I won't appoint you immediately of course I want to talk to you and have you on board for a bit to see how things go first, but any help from a natural leader who knows what he (or she) wants done would be really nice. Thanks for reading and I hopefully can look forward to any positive messages.

Is alt accounts leaders an option?

One thing you need to note regards recruiting on the forums for leaders is that you can get a amazing leader as much as a drama queen leader. Meaning it could take several bad leaders to find a good one although looking at NWO situation it seems your clan needs stability so recruiting leaders who could leave a week later (Which is possible if you are recruiting straight off the bat players that have had no past of your clan) would make the clan instable meaning players leave the clan. So, I consider this a gamble.

I also agree that recruiting a clan leader like this is a poor idea. You can get a good clan leader or a poor one.

I don't believe I'm saying this, but you should take platinum as your example. He was a poor clan leader a year ago, and he didn't really have a plan for 101st back then when he took over a clan to feed players for Lynx.

With time he recruited a few average promissing players such as Tacky, Bonsai, Markus, Styxie, Jinxed, myself and others. We helped each other to get better and to correct play flaws.

There goes the good part, Platinum listened to our advices, as many we could always think better and avoid making poor decisions. 101st became promissing and thriving, Platinum was still the leader but had a few "councelors".

The good thing is that we've all got a nice relationship, so after the meltdown of the Lynx-101st old system, we created Outlaws.

We progressively abandonned our Leader/council system to a more democratic decision-making now, everyone has a voice in our clan, which works well since we have cool players.

This system turned a weak group into a stronger compact community. We have promoted to A this season. Prognostics had us relegating or best case scenario staying in C two seasons ago.


So, to make it short:
- Don't get a new leader, be the leader you want to have
- Be a dictator first. Find some good players for your clan.
- Choose players that can help you and you can listen to in the clan. Reasonable people that will give you good advice.
- Transfer power to the rest of the clan and let people choose. If your work has been done well, you'll have only players that won't fight over stupid arguments and be a pain in the ass for the group.

The way to build a good clan is a person with inexhaustible drive and massive amounts of free time on their hands. And with this being a game, it's hard to find that type of person.

As to the structure of the clan, there are many methods if success. Democratic clans are small and therefore inactivity is a perpetual problem for them. Council run clans seem good for larger clans but infighting occurs occasionally, leading to splits. Dictatorial type clans can work but they are fragile and can collapse as soon as the leader goes inactive.

You could be like the old Royal Falcons and have a government that is a mix of democracy and dictatorship with a government so complicated that it has to have 10 chapters of laws and a constitution. lol. The government eventually collapsed but it is a funny example on how not to run a clan.

Look at the FCC and dictator rule. The clan is like a phoenix. It lost its original founder wend inactive years ago. Sinistral Gamer took the helm, but then went inactive as well, then I took the helm, attempted to build it up twice before only to not have enough time and to watch it go inactive again. I guess the third time was the charm for me. I finally implemented council rule so that the inactivity issue would not happen again.
