I basically want STEM people and allies to control many areas of human life according to what the scientific community believe is the best for humans.
The higher ups can bribe and coerce every technocrat into accepting a false thing, and push out folk who reject it (a thing that's happening now). Since scientific consensus determines laws, there's nothing to stop personal belief and powerhungriness to reign supreme.
Even if you assume that the technocrats will be holy folk, that doesn't mean they will be always right. They could all agree on some fluid to put in the water to cure cancer, F.E, it may have long term health effects that are very negative, like slowing cell regeneration by a large amont or the like.
I personally believe that every human being should receive a formal education in basic logic, philosophy and reasoning so that we all make less mistakes in reasoning.

If the STEM community as a whole is non-hereditary, non-racial and reasonably rich there won't be a lot of incentives to abuse power.

Depending on how many folk live, hundreds of millions to billions of folk die, the world is wrecked for years to come, and the world may or may not be split into different countries again. Note, during this war, any side could possibly destroy the entire earth or huge chunks of it or the human population with any sort of super weapon(s).
