It would focus on the ummayads (pre-expansion), the chinese (at their peak) and the indian civilisations

Yeah, the Indian subcontinent entered an interesting period at this time. Throughout the 7th & 8th centuries, three very powerful empires emerged - the Palas in Bengal, the Gurjara-Pratiharas in Rajputana and the Rashtrakutas in Maharashtra. They were all competing for control over the huge city of Kannauj in the Upper Ganges.
