if their concern was safety, they could simply stay at the refugee camps the government made for them for the duration of their goddarn civil war instead of trying to get into cities and cross borders to enter EU territory so they can try reaching "rich EU countries" like Germany and France.

at this point most of them aren't "refugees", they are just opportunists trying to make their miserable lives better.

hell, I doubt most of them will even go back to Syria when the whole sh*t gets stabilized.
