The only thing that is free in Russia is the souls of the political prisoners after they die.

But if we are being serious, I would have to say Putin helped Russia economically, albeit through corruption and having a large source of income come from oil.

He helped ruin relations with the USA, through some of his actions in Georgia and Ukraine, although the West helped ruin relations by ruining Russia's economy through harsh sanctions.
