How about a "vanish" card where playing it would erase any trace of you being in a territory and leave it with the original number of armies in a neutral?

Not that different from a Blockade card. Just set it to an appropriate number for your game, and you`re good to go!

I`ve definitely used this strategy in games before.

Poireau, in most games that is not possible. Standard blockade is 3.51 meaning 4 is the minimum value. Also they're typically too valuable to waste like that

I like the idea. If you made it so each card had like had a set amount of territories you could neutralize with it, that would be even cooler.
