Recently, you are not able to rate a map after a single player game. This is somehow annoying in my opinion, even though it may prevent subjective rates, which I doubt. Especially, as the warlight community acts rather reasonable. Anyhow, older maps have already been rated through single player games and don't benefit from this change. I haven't always played an entire multi day game(I don't play real time), before I gave rated a map and left a comment. After making some maps on my on and playing warlight for several years, I can fairly judge a map quite fast. Which is a valid argument for many players.
New maps will get less input - about missing connections and gameplay issues as well as reviews in general. They will even be buried on the map yard very quickly, if they wont be noticed soon. This little update doesnt look like a big deal, but I believe that many good maps will suffer from less recognition. and that will be a downer for the map maker community. and to be honest, this part of the community is the most valuable part of warlights community.
It is a pity that there hasn't been even one update that relates to map making or maps in particular, before.

Do you share my concerns or am I exaggerating on this issue? I would appreciate to see your opinions on this topic.

I'd noticed this problem before, and I was thinking about posting and asking people to do some games, but I just kind of never got around to it.

Currently there are almost thirty maps that have no average rating, and I think that as map makers we need to help out each other at least. If someone makes a new map and it never even gets a single rating, that is there is never a game played on it, it's very discouraging.

I also don't agree with the new change. Maps pretty much take around 2 weeks to gain a rating, which can really hurt their popularity. This is even worse for larger maps, or diplomacy ones. It is sad to see maps like Imperator's Geopolitical Earth be stuck at 6 ratings for so long.

Didnt know this, Nathan must be lost as to what to do while on warlight.

Though this seems like something fizzer will respond to if someone brings it to his attention.

It's annoying- even with that feature, it takes a while to get the ratings needed. Without it, it'll be a nightmare

I defently heard about this before, think it was mentioned on stream. Assuming I recall correctly Fizzer said it was a bug and would be fixed. So it may be fixed in the next update :D

Also, just send a bug report.

HA XD

Anyhow, I agree entirely. When I find a missing connection, I can't just tell everyone to goddamn VTE cause I need to comment on the map. This is a pretty lame system.

In any case, what can be done is you load up an alt account on your browser's incognito mode (or another browser works too) and start a match on that map, 1v1, you against yourself. Don't bother the settings, just immediately vote to end on both accounts. You'll be able to vote normally. But this takes much more time and effort and playing against myself makes me feel bad :I

On the plus side, this allows you to add two reviews, one for bugs/connections and one for actually rating the map as a whole.

For now, here is a workaround:

type in this address in the search bar:
https://www.warlight.net/RateMap?ID=

And at the end, add the id of the map you want to rate (the number given in the address on the map page (not preview map)).
