It's a neat strategy game, which, more importantly, allows its players to develop it further.

We can make new maps, create new settings, design our own tournaments... so the game keeps growing.

I can't stop. Its become a serious addiction that I can't quit even though I want to.

I sorta want to wean myself off it too, but I want to get kinda decent (1800 1v1 ladder) first.

I play for the competition. I love competition. Wins against newer people feel kind of empty, but wins against people on a similar level but better than me help me feel like I'm actually capable of something. I struggle with very low confidence and self esteem, and this game has helped me gain some back. Of course, losing can be offputting, but I refuse to give up. I tried to retire last month, but couldn't bring myself to do it. There is no other game like this, and the community of my clan and (some) of the forum is too much to walk away from.

It's the perfect way to not do my classwork since my teachers pay little attention anyways.

That's true. When I was at school I was the only person in my Geography class who could find Italy on a world map.

And the only one who'd heard of Kazakhstan.

(When was the last time those people got an atlas out, dammit?)
