I started to play Warlight some months ago, and of course, at the beginning, I sucked. I lost a lot of games in the 1v1 ladder, but now, I'm actually good. I'm at a 11 winstreak in the ladder and my rating got up from 1860 to 1880 ? That's quite sad, especially when I see buns on #1 with 60 games or something like that... Is it even possible for me to get a rating 2000+ ?
Should I create new account?? Its stupid...

Games expire after 5 months; that means that your rating will go up once your worse losses expire (if you keep playing on a higher level than before).

Okay...but still 5 months are a very long time

Imagine it was shorter. It would promote runs even more. Right now you need an alt for another run. Goal is constant play on the same account for the ladders.

and what if you just count with the current rating of the opponent and not with the rating your opponent has in 4 months?

also... the first players got some easy defeats over me and now they earn good points for it because now I'm #50?

I would prefer even more games than 20 to be ranked, something like 30 would be a lot more reliable in my opinion.

But yeah as long as it's increasing I would keep playing if I was you, also your streak contains very few opponents which are above you in rating. Hence it hasn't boosted you up by as much as you hoped.

Edit: yeah their rating would change by a point or two since you're improving, but I doubt at 2100+ your rating changing at around 1850 has much affect at all.

I don't think games becoming expired is going to help you so much as every single person you lost too has a good rating. The only think i would see helping is the ones where you won against people you beat at like 1000 rating.

Thank you, but in my opinion I was not good at the beginning...
Yeah I never lost to players with a very low ranking but still my 12 winstreak gave me only +25.

but ok, quite good arguments from buns and master, so I'm hopeful to face some high ranked players soon (and win the games of course :p )

Patience, clam. Look at my ladder profile...I have won 25 of my last 28 games, and beaten plenty of high ranked opponents along the way. I think I have moved up about 10 spots on the ladder. It takes time...I also had losses dropping off from 4 or 5 months ago. The good news is if you keep plugging away and winning a good percentage, that will solidify your ranking more once you do move up. Beat higher ranked players....I've done it time and time again...it helps. :)

I lost 2 games and my rating is down to 1876.... Now I have to win another 10 games to reach 1892 again :-D

TrueSkill would likely resolve this better than Bayeselo + expiration, given that it tracks both your rating + a confidence interval. Why not apply it to all the ladders? It would also be nice to have a consistent rating system across the ladders.

could the China map be taken off the rt ladder? it's good map but it's just too big I think.
