Panda, the pro-global warming scientists and politicians are just as guilty of propaganda then. Even more so by seeking to silence critics.

It's not "destroying", it's just that we divert too many resources and avoid using others trying to protect naked people who don't even know we exist. Like, seriously, a good % of our taxes goes to the protection of indigenous tribes that never ever heard of human civilization - at best, they saw a chopper on the sky and that was it, probably thinking it was armaggeddon or something.

And I don't think Monsanto helps us by attacking the fauna and flora, but rather, by by attacking in a less damaging way than most and kicking the others out in the process.

Propaganda is spreading lies such as saying global warming does not exist hence neglecting scientific general consensus, there is no pro or anti global warming scientists, scientists are all aware of global warming, the ones still not recognizing it are some politicians mainly corrupted by lobbies from industrial corporations and societies threatened by a legislation regulating greenhouse gas emissions and consequently defending them.

Question, Koala - have you ever heard of the Vostok Ice Core samples? They show carbon dioxide follows warming, not the other way around. Man-made CO2 emissions are not killing the world.

Everyone knows that anthropological global warming is not a problem for the planet. It is a problem for humanity.

Shit happens. The Earth cools and heats. Also, how can people be so self-centered as to believe that the EXACT temperature best for the world is the EXACT one we have now? How do we know we wouldn't be better off colder or hotter? It just seems so arrogant.

That is not not problem. Change is not what world leaders want. They favor a system called "stability". And if a country like Bangladesh gets flooded even more often, well, you know how many people live there.

Propaganda is spreading lies like humans being the main reason global warming is happening. Maybe if the sci-priests actually showed proof I'd show faith. And there are politicians who support the global warming-caused-by-humans people. Like Obama, the Clintons, Al Gore, Merkel and Bush.

Tell me now, French boy how is it that people who are all most definitely corrupt all agree on something and that thing is certainly true? How is it that these people who mislead is every day, make deals behind our backs and murder thousands are being honest?

PE, since the beginning of Earth's existence, there have been cooler and warmer periods, due to many factors: sun activity, plate tectonics, extraterrestrial causes such as collision with asteroids, volcano activity, etc. The thing is that for at least one century there is indeed a general warming, and a general consensus on it. Also please stop being ridiculous, man made greenhouse gas emissions such as methane or CO2 emissions are without a doubt impacting severely the climate, nothing arrogant about recognizing it, what is arrogant is to purposely ignore the huge impact on this planet environment caused by Men.

Nothing bad about it. Throwing millions of millions of tons into the air in a relative short amount of time is problematic because the planetary system cannot adapt that fast once the oceans can no longer suck it up.

Tupac, it's sad for you but it seems you are the one only listening to politicians, would you please start to find informations elsewhere, your hatred for some politicians (Obama, Clinton, Bush) blinds you at the point that you are not even able to accept the obvious, you still did not answered me, why is global warming a lie? Is it a lie just because Obama or Clinton said it existed? I told you earlier there is a general scientific consensus about this matter. So stop listening to politicians for once and get your own opinion on it based on empirical experiments, serious researches about climate change and its origins made for years, etc.

You even do not need to listen to scientists for this, just use your common sense, talk to elderly people like I did, people that have personal experience and noticed personally the change.

The planet can't adapt? The planet will be just fine, it's humans that scientists worry about.

I'm more concerned about non-global warming environmental changes being induced by human activity. Namely - deforestation, water pollution and shortages, eutrophication due to Nitrogen and Phosphorus dumping, total biodiversity loss, natural resource depletion, and ocean acidification.

Look at table 2. There is a branch of ecology known as ecological economics that basically tries to quantify the services provided by ecosystem and the cost of human alteration or damage to them. For example they've estimated that Coral Reefs alone are worth $153,000 per hectare for the amount of erosion control they provide.

That is not entirely correct. I just had a reading from an ecology professor two months ago about arctic ecosystems. Without ice on the ocean, lots of species are screwed. But of course Jai is right.

Well yeah the planet won't disappear because of humans and global warming, Humans are harming themselves more than anything else, once the planet gets sick of us, easy: massive extinction with a new cycle starting again as always, see Cretaceous, Jurassic or Triassic.

I'm not saying climate change isn't happening I'm saying humans aren't the main cause of it.

And the sci-priests refuse to provide proof for anything, often just saying that since they are sci-priests they are right.

So if humans aren't the main cause of global warming for these last 100 years (coincidence? It started with the industrial revolution, but yeah again simple coincidence...), what is the main cause? Volcanoes? Solar activity? Asteroids? Give me your explanation then.
