who in your opinion is the best player in warlight?

Gnuffone, Odin, Swzewenigen, Timinator, Master of Desaster, Master of the Dead, Master QB# all of these could contend for best player in some form or another. But they wouldn't be best on all templates. These are prolly the best for the most common templates.

It's very tough to judge who the best player on warlight is. It depends on what exactly you mean by best? Do you mean someone who does best at the most common templates? Do you mean someone who would be most likely to win their first game against someone else on a brand new template? Do you mean someone who would be most likely to win their tenth game against someone else on a brand new template? Some players can adjust their style to any template instantly, while others take a bit more time to adjust. However, some of those that take more time to adjust may perfect their play on a template, while those who adjust faster may not bother to perfect their play on the template.

Any list someone gives you of top players will be biased based on who they have played with, and who they haven't. To give a very subjective opinion, if I had to go up against one player on a random template (1v1 or team with alts) for $1 million, the player I would least want to face would be Szeweningen.

There will likely be a competition for some of the "best" players coming up soon; we've had [20] leagues in the past, as well as many other events, which have somewhat ranked the best at that exact time period. We just haven't had this competition really recently. I believe Latnox won the last [20] league, but most of the games were played well over 6 months ago IIRC.

I think maybe I should mention some guys who I believe can compete with the best all around but are not as well known as many you will see mentioned in this thread: GreenTea, Wazz, brisk

I've always had trouble with TeddyFSB as well, but I think he's a bit inactive.

It would be best if the [20] league could be reactivated.. but i'm not sure whether there would be enough interested in playing and/or spectating the championships of the very best strategic players..

I would go for Sze, Gnuffone and Odin in the templates that I enjoy, Master of the Dead is very good at 3v3 EUs as well. At one point, I was a gun at Strat 1v1 16% luck too ;)

You forgot Gui, he is definitely one of the best.

I'm surprised we made it that long with no mention of Gui, and still no mention of myhand.

When you go off the top of your head you always forget some people. Agreed that those two should be included in any conversation about the best players.

Timinator, Fleecemaster is pretty good too.

Haha, I am most definitely not the god of 1v1. I make many 1v1 games, but small earth has a large luck component to it, especially with automatic distribution. But it's a satisfying template for when I have to poop (which is more often than it should be).

*edit* I've played 3583 ranked games, of which 2724 were 1v1 (only 57% win rate).

*edit 2* I've only played master of desaster out of the players mentioned, and although I am leagues ahead him in spelling abilities, he punished my anus 2 out of 2 times.

buns is pretty good too ... but i think it is hard to say who is the best i mean 1v1 is different to team games...... also maps and settings count .... in my opinion their are many top players

The person I would least like to face in any given tournament is Timinator personally. Some might be better on a certain format, but overall I can't rate anyone higher right now. And Ox is right, Summer deserves to be in that conversation. Very versatile like Timi.
