i will play 10 games
also,can players choose their own base price?
this way managers or any other committee don't have to decide who's worth what.they'll just start from the base prize during the auction and if no one thinks the player's worth it,no one'll buy him
so even players have to be careful while setting their base prize
i'll set my base prize 70,if it was up to me :)

I put my base price as 1 if we are choosing :)

If all the managers were up for doing the auctioning on stream together that would be even better than a livestream as well, and would provide some nice entertainment when they all wet themselves for mod and end up paying all 400 for 1 player :D

After the sign up deadline for the players are done. When roughly will the auction take place? What platform will it take place on? Any details in general would be nice.

Player sign ups end on Friday night.I may need 2 days to pick managers, since I've gotten a bigger response than I expected(11 manager candidates atm). I will also simultaneously estimate player prices. I will post details on the auction in my next post(maybe tomorrow).

When will the players cost be announced before the auction?

Player prices will be announced 1-2 days before the auction. Since this is a very important phase, we need some time to arrive at reasonable estimates for all players. Prospective managers are encouraged to start estimating the worth of all players in the player pool by themselves. Hopefully, their estimates shouldn't differ too much from the base prices set by the league.

Can you redeem a players contract after 2 seasons?

This is not decided yet. I'm leaning towards allowing the owning club some sort of "first option" to retain it's player. But I want to think things through before I answer. Since this scenario is at least 4-6 months away(2 seasons), I feel like I have some time. There are more pressing issues to address at the moment ;)

Negotiation: Does every deal need to be authorized by you and confirmed?

Are these economy settings experimental? To avoid huge financial imbalance

We have thought a lot over these economy settings and gone over many "What if" scenarios. There is always a chance that these settings may lead to an unstable economy. But I am hoping our projections hold true, and this is successful. If not, we will make small tweaks to correct the economy without clubs being affected severely.

Templates: Do the managers vote or do the league commissioners predetermine this?

All templates for Season 1 shall be decided by the league owners. This may be subject to change in the future.

I think the cost of a player will be determined by bidding on that player? That is what has been done in the past I believe....

Please do not refer to leagues in the past to make assumptions in this one :). See my next post for more clarification...

Do you think that maybe you could stream the online players draft? I think it would be cool for players to be able to watch it or at least have something to look at later for it.... idk just a thought.

I have been told by a lot of people that they may not be able to attend a RT auction. I have a non RT auction being planned at the moment. Once I've ironed out all the details, I will update the thread. We can have a stream once the auction is done, to go over all the players bought and the prices they went for. We can also disclose the 2nd highest bid(but hide the identity of the club).

No. Base prices will be determined by the league. We've thought through some scenarios where any other entity setting a base price(or a lack of base price altogether) can be exploited.

I want to joint as a player but due to my current ability most likely not to be selected.

I have a suggestion, may be for future season, that we have 'academy league' where club buy potential future players. Players who currently still not good enough but, in their opinion, have a potential to be a good players if receive good coaching. Those players need to have their own league to allow managers to monitor their progress. This league should has a very small fraction of finance size of the 'real league'.

I am really want to improve my strategic ability but hesitate to joint any clan because its requirement to be active on forums. I joint WL for the game, not the interaction. It is because of my limited available time, not because I do not like to interact.

I can play 5 or 10 competitive games without problem. I have no problem with four concurrent games with 3 days boot time. I will gladly accept as much as coaching games that are offered to me. I will be a loyal servant to the club. I will not resign as long as I keep playing WL. If there is a personality conflict then it should be handled professionally. by transfer listed me. If you have coach me well then my price will increase and club will gain some benefit from me. A win-win situation, just like in football club.

So managers... Do you think I have a good attitude? So, PICK ME !!!

Edit: for as long as the players are in the academy status, the clubs will keep them, unless they are transferred to other club. We have to set some rules about changing players status from academy level to full player.

Funny that you mention it. We currently have players signed up for around 470 games. The league in it's current format only has 330 game slots. We're already thinking of a Group B(which would function similar to your suggestion of youth league). And we could even have a promotion/relegation system. However, preparations for the second group(if at all) will only commence after all games in the primary group have started.

This is the best solution I could come up with, for a non real-time auction. I expect a few edits on this post, based on any ambiguity and questions asked as a result. But here goes..


Rules for Auction:
  • No player can be sold below their base price.
  • All players will be divided into about 8 buckets. Bucket 1 will have the best players
  • Groups will be created by randomly drawing a player out of each bucket. Thus, each group will have a player from bucket 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8.
    For ex - If we have a total of 80 players (hypothetically), There will be 8 buckets, each with 10 players. There will be 10 groups, each containing 8 players(one from each bucket).
  • The auction will have as many rounds as the number of groups. Every round will be held over chat/mail(not RT)
  • In every round, we cover one group. All managers have to submit the following

    • The max number of players they want to sign from this group.
    • Their priority in which they want to sign players in that group. One may want to sign a bucket 2 player ahead of a bucket 1 player!
      For ex- Say a group has 8 players. A manager only wants at max 3 players. If they win the bid for their highest priority player, they get them. This continues until the manager wins bids for the max number of players specified. Any further winning bids of that manager are not considered.

    • A max bid for each player in the group.
      Say if X and Y are managers who bid for player P.
      If X has max = 60
      If Y has max = 65
      Y will win this bid and the price for the player P will be 61 Nohhams( 1 greater than the best max bid).

  • The manager with the highest bid for a player wins that player as long as they have not exceeded their max player count in that group and this player is amongst his highest priority picks.
  • A manager can avoid bidding for a player altogether if they are not interested in the player.
  • A manager can bid half price on all 10 game players, with the intention of playing them for only 5 games(1 tournament). If there is a full price bid for this player, they lose the bid.
  • After every round, the results are declared to every manager and the winning transactions(and club) are made public for all the players in that round. This way, after a round, every manager knows what their finances are, and if they should be more aggressive or passive in the next round(based on what they got in the previous round). For ex- after round 5, you have missed out on all the Bucket 1 players so far, it is probably time for you to be super aggressive about pursuing the bucket 1 player in the next round.
  • Trades are only possible in the transfer windows(which occur at the end of each season). So after season 1 is done, clubs can trade amongst each other. To do so, they must lodge a bid with a "Transfer exchange". When a bid is lodged for a player, the owner club will be notified by the league. It can either refuse or accept. Any bids made in private will not be recognized. All bids must go through the exchange. Record will be kept of all trades to ensure transparency.

I think I have a way of working out a players base worth!

1v1Win% * 2v2Win%/2 * 3v3Win%/3 all divided by 1,000

So I would be:

(26*14*14)/1,000 = 5,096/1,000 = 5.096 ~ 5 Nohhams, which is 1 Nohham over my opinion.

And MotD would be:

(75*40*24)/1,000 = 72,000/1,000 = 72 Nohhams

This way the maximum value of a player is:

(100*50*33)/1,000 = 165,000/1,000 = 165 Nohhams

Meaning there is no way a player cannot be purchased.
