Romania and the bonuses still look the same to me on the map. Didn't you update it?

Really curious to see how it'll work out. Always wanted a bigger, better WN2014 and this one is much more visually pleasing in terms of colors, country borders and regional distribution.

Another thing, though; Are you considering making disputed territories of all sorts (Kosovo/Crimea/Western Sahara/Donetsk/Luhansk?/others) with a new color such as black or white?

Are you looking at the new version here?

https://www.warlight.net/Play?PreviewMap=53200

I did post this link before, but I guess it got lost. I'll update the OP with it to clear up any confusion.

I probably will make the disputed stuff a different color, but like I said I was just sick of redoing stuff last night :) I've still got a whole bunch of changes to make.

From all of what I've seen of this map it is looking great! I probably guess you already have put days of extensive energy in this. Making huge maps take loads of time. Making a huge diplomacy map takes forever to make, believe me. All these quick changes and modifiying the bonus links are all time-consuming, aren't they? I also want to inform you but if you keep creating new bonusses in your map developper tool then your browser will slown down step by step. If the number of bonusses on a map approaches 800 it might have a good chance of your browser freezing. I've had a trick for this.

I wouldn't even mind to say this but I feel more comfortable with this map than with my own huge diplomatical world map. This geopoltical earth tends to be more realistic and balanced and that's what we all want to have right? Keep this up Imperator. If this is going to be published then this is going to be your best rated map ever by far!

.. at least if it doesn't get rejected

This is definitely my biggest project so far, so thanks for the encouragement :) I did just do a 2300 territory map, which was pretty both big and bonus heavy, but in perspective, it only had about 550 bonuses. I'm planning to do close to three times that, so I can only imagine the lag lol.

I am being VERY careful to do everything as compliant to the rules as I possibly can. I can't even fathom how much it would suck to have this rejected after I get done with it...

You mentioned that you won't change the shape of the central territory in Poland as it would be difficult to determine it's value... but hey, you could do that, actually. Put the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship in Warsaw rather than in Gdansk, adjust the values accordingly and voila!

(seriously though, this shape really does bug me...)

Yeah, I think I could be down with that. I especially value your opinion since you're a native polish person :)

I believe you mispelled whatever the hell the poles call "Stettin"...

It turns out it's "Szczecin" in polish. I've actually had problems with this name for every single map I've made with poland on it.

When I'm naming territories, I normally click the territory and then go to my tab with the name in it. Then I really quickly memorize the name and go back into my map designer and type it in as fast as I can. "Szczecin" has always given me trouble. In my head, the "szczec" syllable just completely blows my mind, and unless I actually remember the sequence of letters, I end up putting something like "Sezecin" or as I did on this map "Szecezin".

^^ I bet you're not the only one.

That reminds me that I should write a guide to Polish pronunciation on the OT forum, as even the basics are very different from most languages' standards.

GLORIOUS! Finally someone who agrees with me that name is unbearable to write, type, pronounce or whatever!

I'll actually quote it several more times and then link this thread to Onoma and Death every day on a daily basis. #FixYourGoddamnLanguagePoland

Alright, well I may have possibly found a solution for poland that myself, Zephyrum, AND Death can agree on! Woohoo!

It is probably one of, if not the most ridiculous place names I've ever encountered(Apparently it's pronounced "Stechin").

The map looks great, an impecable balance between territory number and reasonable bonus link size, if done correctly, I think this will replace WN2014, my major complaint is that US looks to be way OP in comparison to Russia and Europe.

There really isn't any nation on earth currently that can compare to the US in power. There's a reason that the US is the only Superpower.

But, let's give it a whirl. Here are some of the Incomes for large nations on the map:

United States: 571
European union: 472
Brazil: 137
Russia: 164
China: 334
India: 103

Compared to the GDP of those places(what the bonus values are based on):

United States: $17.3 Trillion
European union: $18.5 Trillion
Brazil: $2.3 Trillion
Russia: $1.8 Trillion
China: $10.3 Trillion
India: $2.0 Trillion

And when you take into account that a larger area will always result in a higher overall country value due to having to divide it up further, You get the following results:

1. Russia being worth slightly more than India and Brazil. This is simply because although all three have around the same GDP with russia slightly lower than the latter two, Literally nobody, even some continents, beat russia as far as being big.

2. The United States being worth more than the EU and China being worth less than the EU. This is due to basically the same thing. USA is almost 2.5 times larger in area than the EU, so it gets a boost compared to the richer, yet smaller European union. Similarly, although china is about the same size as the US, it's worth less due to having only around half the GDP of the US/EU.

So, I don't believe that the US is overpowered at all. If anything, it's underpowered IMO.

The map is Great but it would be better if it was the whole world intruding the black spot and more connection.

Britain should probably have a boost.
Britain's gdp is $2989, bonus is 37.
France's gdp (in billions) is $2829, bonus is 65.
California's gdp is $2202, bonus is 43.
Mexico's gdp is $1259, bonus is 69.

I've read how larger countries get larger bonus values but Britain's bonus is almost half what it should be. You could probably squeeze in another territory.

Egypt should also probably have a bonus
Egypt's GDP is 272 Billion USD and Libya is only 74 Billion USD however they are nearly equal in Bonus values. Egypt(24) Libya(21). You could fit multiple territories into Egypt.

I spotted out an incorrect provincial boundary line. That bit of land north of New Brunswick is actually apart of Quebec.
