So I've done The Aegean Region of Turkey and should soon finish all of Turkey with a total of around 550 territories, I'm sorry for my slow pace and speed but it's just a short while now. I will also be adding the bonuses so here are the bonuses that I have planned, if there are any that you think I should add in then just tell me.

Sovereign States:
Egypt
Israel
Palestine
Lebanon
Jordan
Syria
Iraq
Cyprus
Turkey
Iran
Kuwait
Saudi Arabia
Oman
Yemen
Qatar
Bahrain

Unrecognized States:
Kurdistan

Rebels:
ISIS(they will be called Daesh in the bonus probably)
Houthi Rebels
Al Qaeda
Syrian opposition

Religion:
Sunni Islam
Shi'ite Islam
Ibadi Islam
Wahabi Islam
Judaism
Christianity

Now as for the Cultural bonuses, I'm struggling to define them and divide them into a list of cultures, for example some maps show Syria and Saudi Arabia and Iraq and other regions as Arab, however this disregards the Syrian, Saudi and Iraqi culture. Then again I don't want to just make culture just denominations of the country name, I'd like for them to be accurate and detailed. If anyone could link me to a map that shows it well and not super duuper detailed that'd be great or if you compiled a list of what you think should be on the culture list that would be fantastic. As always, thank you for all of your support its not long now.

interesting progress, thought I have some concerns on Turkey;

1)Istanbul should worth a little more(possibly 9) - it's a historical huge city with 15 million population which is also home to the most of Turkey's important economic corporations and benefits from Bosphorus trade, I find it weird that Cairo worths more than Istanbul by default right now.

2)Some of the territory names are either wrong or has more accurate definitions. Here's some corrections off my head;

Corlu -> Tekirdağ
Kirklarei -> Kırklareli(typo correction)
Tekirdag -> Edirne
Biga -> Çanakkale(Gallipoli if you prefer)

I can give you a detailed correction list later after you're done with the rest of the country.

3)Turkey looks somewhat "less detailed" compared to Iran which has a lot more territories, this could make Turkey underpowered which should have about the same income with Iran. I might be wrong thought.

For cultural bonuses, it'll be hard and may need to do some rounding for simplicity as it's very complicated.

I suggest you split arabic "cultures" by their dialects, and then make an "arabic" superbonus which combines them all:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Varieties_of_Arabic

and here's a very detailed and complex map of Middle East ethnic map:

http://kamilpasha.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/2133_Mid_East_Ethnic_lg.jpeg

I'll see if I can dig in more info later.

EDIT: Oh, also don't forget to add Turkish Republic of North Cyprus(TRNC) to Unrecognized States list too: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northern_Cyprus

Yeah thank you for pointing The TRC out I'll be sure to add that. Now to turkey...

About being underpowered I would say that there is no reason to worry, Turkey might not have as many territories but the income is much higher per territory on average with many more 4's and 3's, I think that Turkey as a whole will be just about the same as Iran and a small bit above Egypt. Now as for istanbul, it is undoubtedly a centre of trade and economy for Turkey and arguably the most important city in Turkey, but Cairo is much the same for Egypt. As for GDP, Istanbul doubles Egypt but is beaten on population with Cairo numbering at around 20,000,000 people. Now as for other aspects Cairo is stationed around the River Nile, a massively important River for all of Egypt, and Istanbul although stationed around the Bosphorus doesn't quite have the locational advantage that Cairo has with the Nile. For that reason Istanbul is lower than Egypt, also because Ankara is another major city in Ankara and I've tried to limit each country to one really good bonus but Turkey is actually going to get 2 because it has two really economically good cities, so I felt I had to balance it out.

As it stands:
Best Territories
Cairo 8
Istanbul 7
Riyadh, Kuwait City, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Tel Aviv and Tehran 6

PS: Im thinking of making Istanbul 8, Cairo 9, and Tehran 7 also I realised that Ankara is really low so it is going to become a 6 as well instead of a 5.

EDIT: I'm actually just going to make istanbul a 9 same as Cairo

-Bonuses for culture, Overall countries, Religion
-Bonuses for Rebel groups
-Adding the trade line
-Testing the map
-Adding distributions

Nice work, this is really going to be a good map indeed, a few questions thought;

1)Will you be adding "external" territories to Caucaus, Turkestan, Europe etc. for possible US-Russia starts? Those can be out of "diplo" distributions by default, and not worth anything by default.

2)Is Cyprus still planned to split up? Right now two ports per territory(three for Turkish Cyprus) seems somewhat "overpowered" to me.

3)Is Edirne-Canakkale(aka Gallipoli) going to be connected? I can see having only Istanbul connecting Bosphorus adds to it's strategic importance, but adding Gallipoli connection is also realistic.

I see you have edited the territory names I mentioned, so I'll make a correction list shortly.

Again, thank you for creating this great map, I'm looking forward for the tests :)

EDIT: Also, agree on what Feline said.

I will add an Edirne Canakkale connection, also Stewie, thanks a lot for your help with Turkey, do you think it looks alright?

And yes I will split up Cyprus, just forgot to mention it on my list of to-do.

Also I will add the names of bonuses in their literal forms.

This would be perfect if you added in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia. Each of these nations have their own disputed territories and Georgia has unrecognised states of their own. You'll have to do a bit of research if you want to get them right. Overall it looks like a great map and I'll be happy to test it. I've been hoping for a new middle east map for a while now since the others lack detail.

I have seriously considered adding nations such as Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia as well as Afghansitan and further. However I decided that those nations would be best suited for a 'Greater Middle East Map' which I will be making. Also, thank you, I wanted to make a map in a region that didn't have many maps yet deserved some more and this is why I decided to make this.

Thank you chuck norris, I'll put those in when I next go to edit the map. Also, Cyprus has now been divided from 3 territories to 5 and the naval connections have been reworked to ensure that Cyprus isn't too overpowered.

As you can see, I won't be putting flags in for al qaeda, daesh or the houthi rebels. This is due to some profoundly offensive phrases found in Arabic on the houthi flag. I won't repeat what is on them but I know that lots of people on warlight can actually read Arabic (me included) and I'm sure they too would be offended, flags for Al Qaeda and Daesh will not be included because the feature Muslim phrases that are wrongly used by these terrorist groups, and using them could offend many Muslims on warlight. The syrian opposition will however have a flag as they are not religiously motivated and not a terrorist group, as well as their flag not being offensive to anyone as far as I know.

Also, very importantly if any of the flags found do offend, please let me know and I will remove them.

I have added a trade line but in my opinion it is rather ugly and clogs up the map, especially in the persian gulf which is already full of connections. I think it is rather something that I would prefer to not have, I'll leave it up temporarily to see what you all think though.

Yeah, I don't think it's going to worth it; most of the connection points in trade line aren't too far anyway.

Maybe you could just exclude out the Persian Gulf and extend the line only to Socotra, just thinking out loud here.
