"Tak" Matsumoto is extremely good as well, the best in Japan (probably Top 5 global).

I also really like weezer, as you already know. They're not Satriani, but Say it Ain't So rips the skin off my fingers if I don't play it right.

As for good metal bands, Mastodon and Avenged Sevenfold have some intense stuff.

Weezer have some good songs, while although I had a few albums of avenged sevenfold....I never really appreciated their music.

Of course Foo Fighters are always a good recommendation, Dave Grohl is Jesus;reincarnated into a human. Not really metal though, I've heard that Korn and iron maiden are good.

From what i hear, Korn has 2 good songs. I've never taken the time to listen to an album.

Iron Maiden are nice.

A7X is better than a lot of metal bands imo because they are not screaming their heads off and they have some very hard guitar work. Oh, but they still aren't that good lyrically haha

Foo Fighters is good no doubt. Everlong is very fun to play on guitar! It was a partial influence for a short song i wrote a few months ago.

Dave Grohl has got to be one of the most talented musicians on the planet.

he doesn't use a pick. if you play guitar you know how crazy it is for someone to shred without a pick.

That's pretty impressive. I've heard of bass players finger picking before, but not guitarists.
