You really should have had someone else help you with ratings. Putting Mister T, a former ladder #1 as a D is a joke. Luckily, he ended up in your group so you can see firsthand your mistake :p Also, Mr. X is an obvious alt; I'd anticipate him to be much better than a D player.
Regarding your concern, The Champions League is a tournament that is open to the public. Reason why it's open to anybody + everybody is for the following reasons.
1. Tournament format must be correct. 2. Procedures into dealing with concerns + issues to be fast and efficent. 3. To correct any loop-holes. 4. To get it established into the WL Community.
For this tournaments future, These first couple of seasons need to be tested and improved where possible, I will be considering making these tournaments an Invite-only elite competition if I feel 100% confident in the tournament methods + formatting. So basically the public is testing my tournament before I go and try to launch it branding it as "invite - only". I'm taking notes, considering all options to make it more exciting and how to entice a crowd in.
I consider these first couple of seasons as test samples, There-fore I'm not selective or too concerned on who join these tournaments. It was a first-come first-serve so basically it's hard luck. Though in the future their will be official proper procedures to ensure these incidents won't happen again but for now I'm not concerned on who join at this moment of time.

Didn't you say in your first post that this is meant to be prestigious tournament with a prize? It's weird to suddenly hear you say that this is meant to be a test, that you're not concerned with who joins it, and that you mention it's "hard luck"? I'm curious about how the participants feel about this.

Not actually true, I was 2nd on the list. I assume it's just the order Platinum entered us into the RNG.
As a side note, Turkish and Insane are also heavily underrated. And I think PhucilliJerry is a little, too. :( As far as structure goes, I think it would be cool if the participants got input on what pots their competitors were put into.
