I know this could be removed via persetiquites but why so many newbies?

I made some template and I saw a ton of level 1-17 players. Any reason to this. I usually win the games by not telling anyone the setting since all newbies fall easy prey to ignorance via not reaaing settings. Yes , there are some light levelled players here and them... But in a nutshell , all my templates bait too many newbies.

They suck too and hold up the game

Are you telling me you don't know about filters? No you are not, so what is the problem?

@TBest , I know what a filter is , but why are they so many newbies (noobs) who hold up the game and suck at everything why? Most of my templates are Diplo so yeh. Are newbies attracted to diplo templates?

Because all the more experienced players realise that open diplomacy games are extremely toxic, and they move on to playing diplos with their clan, interclan, or with friends.

True dat

Because all the more experienced players realise that open diplomacy games are extremely toxic

Elaborate on a reason please.

To me the only way to survive in a diplomatic is to be as harsh to everyone as possible. I've all seen ,betrayals , stupid alliances and random boots in my diplomacy career before. If you do manage to survive the toxicity of diplo you gain an immunity to it and once your a high enough levels , you can bring everyone down to your knees.

Well, saying that all open diplomacy games are toxic isn't entirely true. The fault mainly relies in open real time games.

See, the problem with open games, is that you'll be putting your game out to the public. There is no filter for "Keep PEs out". You can try to blacklist them all, but that ain't happening. People get booted a lot more in public games than private games. When players get booted, it becomes less of "let's throw players into a social psychology game, and see who can trick, betray, and use wit to win?" and a lot more of "who can get the most lucky by being surrounded by most of the neutrals, and click the most to win?"

For me, diplomacy is a lot less fun in open games, because there are PEs galore, people don't understand the rules, people use alts, much more people get booted, and the players are generally more unreliable.

In closed games, I can invite whomever I want. I make sure NOT to invite PEs. To invite people who READ the rules. People who DON'T use alts to their advantage. and RELIABLE people who DON'T get booted.

How about you stop being a 1337ist and play the game for fun ;)

If you want to play with "Pros" then make friends and organise it with other clans :)

The other reason open diplos tend to be more toxic is that you don't anticipate playing with those players again. Playing with friends or clanmates, betraying someone or breaking a rule has actual future consequences. In open games, not so much. Also, Don't complain about other players "sucking" when you somehow have a -91 rating on Real Time ladder. I know it's not necessarily a valid indication of skill level, but how is that even possible?
