Why is it that out of almost all high level players I see, none of them are above level 59, is there a reason for this or is it just time?

As the levels get higher, they take longer to complete. Also, once you get past level 54, without a membership, there's not really much of anything to unlock, so people don't aggressively try to level up as much as they do at lower levels.

Probably way less than that.

Also, by my calculations from the other thread about points, a level 64 player has at least 12 times the points of a level 54. (~34 million vs ~2.7 million). This means that the 6 players at or above level 64 have as many points as 72 lvl 54 players. This shows that even in the 20% you're talking about, the top few have a huge number of points.

The last few maps are unlocked at 56.

They are very few and are mostly unknown/useless, so the last really important unlock is at 54.

56 is the true softcap, though.

None of the maps are very interesting.
