Well, my thoughts, for what they are worth:

If someone invests so much time in the game that they can achieve a high level, they must have look at a lot of ads, which in turn pays Fizzer.

If someone turns on ad-block, it takes them 10x as long to get to the place to play in ladder.

Fizzer is monetizing the site the best he can after supporting us at a loss for a long time.

Finally, Fizzer already indirectly answered this in a previous post on a similar topic. He basically said, when you buy in early, you pay a premium, and later on when it reaches critical mass, it gets cheaper for everyone else.

So, if you paid a membership, thank yourself for supporting the site. But don't be too upset that there are other people that get what you got.

I personally would be less annoyed if members had the features of setting up an alliance channel or guild whatever

Most high ranked players (which I don't include myself to be) are members and have argued for the implementation of getting clans/alliance systems accepted.

I wouldn't mind IF Fixxer (I Iike this name coined by Foxy) makes new member-only features:

1. leagues
2. real-time ladder
3. new team ladder on a new map (2v2, 3v3, random teammate)
4. new settings that can't use the leveling system and require membership (-1/0/+1 random bonus changes, annonymous FFAs, etc.)

Take with one hand, give with another. That is fine. I can only assume he wouldn't be so foolish as to not give members more than useless trophies or stickers as the membership has reached a low point in value.

oh come on guys, why are you guys so disappointed some people have member features? You guys still get your features, why dont you want people who work hard to gain levels to have a better WL experience too?

This is like, buying food from the supermarket, than complaining about poor people getting free food from the Church.

He doesn't have to take away features from those who already unlocked it. He can simply stop unlocking that for people that get there in the future (or like I said limit the time it is unlocked).

Or like Qi said, just offer new features to members. People just want to feel like they are getting something extra when they pay to support the site.

I would be really mad if I was a person that bought a membership just before 2.0, or after. At least I have had over a year of using mine before 2.0

Another idea would be if members could gift unlocks like the ladder. Then they would still be getting something a little extra. I know I have friends on here I would love to give my ladder unlock to when I get there.

If people could gift ladder, and ladder could be unlocked by points 1 of those way to unlock it is useless..
BTW I now could join seasonal ladder I'm level 52 and I unlocked it. Like Timinator already said no more features after level 52..

I don't understand what you are trying to say. I'm saying that as members, we already have access to the ladders. But you also have the ability to unlock it (level 48, or whatever). That is useless now, but why not allow members to gift that unlock when they get there?

So in few words if member can gift ladders to anyone and ladder can be unlocked by leveling up in 1 day we will find all the people of warlight in ladder. we will find someone who will gift to everybody for ladder acces .. Or maybe you mean member could gift only once, but in this case.. could work but I don't think is a so good value acquired or a privilege for members

Of course it would be limited to 1 time (the gift). I think it is a value to members who would like to play ladder with people that will never buy a membership.

which means one fo the things promised to someone who buys a membership isnt member exclusive:

Members have full access to all ladders, which are competitive arenas where players compete to see who is the best.

same with luck and 24 player games, and statistics, and all the old things, there are no more member only features other than more vacations, which can be handled by asking someone else to play for you (flyingburrito could easily use and adblocker now and it wouldnt matter)

even if we might say that players who bought membership years ago couldnt complain (which i dont agree with), the players who bought the membership after wl 2.0 were robbed.... actually i bought my membership one day ebfore i got to know flyingburrito had access to the 1v1 ladder... just look at my profile, that was teh reason why i bought the mebership.... i really feel robbed
