Thanksgiving was a celebration between the alliance of the Pilgrims and Native Americans. While that alliance was later betrayed it wasn't the original Pilgrims who did that. If anything, Thanksgiving honors the short (And failed), but still noble, attempt at peace between settlers and natives. There's nothing offensive about it.

The assumption that citizens in the first world have no real problems in life and aren't permitted to complain about anything is an extremely ignorant one. Being better off than someone else in the world does not equal a perfect life. "Aristocrat" would only be accurate in defining a very small upper-percentage of people in the U.S and Europe, and even those people are still humans who have problems.

There are so many wrong things in that paragraph. Debt isn't a choice. People who work three jobs usually have to. The US has gunshots at night. The US has poverty and hunger. You usually love bashing the US, why are you ignoring these things now?

X, Thanksgiving was where Native Americans and colonists ate together and brought food to eat with each other. Later was the genocides but the holiday itself has little to do with the genocide. Except that one group involved was eventually genocided.

The primary fallacy of people who insult the US is that they turn around and say how great it is looking at other countries and how we should feel privileged.

Debt is 100% choice - don't pay for things that you don't have money for, only way I see where debt wouldn't be a choice is in the conservative healthcare system, where if you get into an emergency, you're in trouble, not just in health. You can still move to a place where they do have universal healthcare. Folk who work three jobs want the money from three jobs, they don't have to get that money. America has no poverty to speak of, since it does provide some social support for food to unworking folk. There are homeless shelters, learning for 12 years is free and mandatory, and there's no riots over drinking water. Good healthcare will be given, you'll just be in debt. And that's all 5 criteria for being in poverty (Unhealthy foodlack, unhealthy waterlack, a very low learning level, no healers to heal you and a roof on your head.)

I don't like bashing America, it's government is abominable, as are most others and patriotism is a ridiculous lunacy, always. But it's got great living standards.

600 is not loads in America. Even for the bottom 10 percent (roughly 4000USD by each head), it's affordable, and looking at this further, looks like the school will just annoy you if you don't pay this.

You are wrong, xpapy, because there's a huge difference in cost of living across the US. Secondly, unless you have 2-3 people living together, its generally not enough (gov SSI,SSD) to live on.

It's adjusted for PPP, and cost does not vary that significantly. Omaha is on the lower end, it's got a consumer price index of 65 (cheaper), while New York has a consumer price index of 93, also, in general, the places where things are more expensive the folk on average are going to be richer and in reverse.
