Yet another case of the culture clash between Europe's Muslims and non-Muslims. A Islamic conference was taking place where some of the invited speakers had expressed controversial views regarding women. This is when two female protesters in disguise went top-less on stage and started shouting Feminist slogans before being dragged out of the building.
What do you think of this? Should this be protected by the right to protest, or were these two women out of line?
Collective rape references should be 20 years in prison. It should never existed in the first place.
Otherwise, it is a matter if it falls under the "Droits de l'Homme" or not. Every country has agreed to sign and respect the law. It is the international law that everyone agreed to willfully unless exceptions.
Russia has not agreed to "ban" death sentence. However, it never applied one in a long time.

I think it is out of line to disrupt a conference. Whatever the circumstances disrupting an conference is just rude.
That conference is just awful... To discuss on should muslim women should be beaten is just criminal. Women + Men should be treated equal.. This is a major flaw In Islam and Is just doesn't make me want to respect Islam or anyone who believes in it.
I do wish the leader of the feminist group and Islamic leaders sit down and discuss this issue. Beating women is no joke.. It never is and never will be and for a religion to be preaching that, They should be ashamed of yourselfs..
In brief, Feminist group was in the wrong for intervening a conference but overall Islam is in the Wrong crossing a line about women which I can understand the reaction of the feminists understandably so.. I think for this to be discussed in France would mean I'm hoping the french authroities could put some stop to this? It is a Man beating a Women...

If *most* Islamic countries agreed on everything, it means that religion is on the Wrong and goes against the Civil Law. I guess it was only an extremist meeting that is normally banned.

Gender Roles ; Social Roles.
Feminism is divided and have different views. Some feminists will by example try to make men go more in care jobs, something traditionally viewed as for woman only. Or make equal divorce laws like giving equal chance for fathers to *receive* the children after the act.

There exists both an implicit moratorium established by President Boris Yeltsin in 1996, and an explicit one, established by the Constitutional Court of Russia in 1999.
It is still in the LAW BOOK. Criminal Code of Russia. Russia *abolished* death sentence to enter EU. I guess it is good that they keep it one way or the other. Maybe death sentence IS better than life penalty or work camps.

Trivia :
Russia is in the bottom for all charts and has one of the most polluted air in the world.... Government makes some very poor decisions sometimes.
Russia is a cool country because it agreed for *demilitarization* on removing all nuclear missiles. It has many diplomats trying to cooperate with other countries on joint projects and other things. It is not a superpower anymore and far from public enemy number one like the media wants to make us believe.
It has also made some moves to help with world peace.

The Partnership and Co-operation Agreement (PCA), signed in June 1994 and in force since December 1997, provides a political, economic and cultural framework for relations between Russia and the EU. It is primarily concerned with promoting trade, investment and harmonious economic relations.
Not in the EU yet. :(
And Russia will never accept the euro.
But most international entities see Russia to be near enough "qualifications" to become an EU member. Otherwise, Russia has a dozen joint programs with EU like defense, energy, education, research and others...

The "Whether or not wives should be beaten" part has been proven to be a lie, the conference were recorded so it wasn't difficult to verify it, but for some reason, some medias were happy to buy into it. This was a private muslim event, over a few days, with conferences and other activities and i think the annual theme was the muslim woman. What was controversial about the conference is that some of the people invited to debate on various topics like : "Is Islam treating men and women in the same way", or "the valorization of the woman in islam", and other topics about woman and education, stuff like that, some of the imams invited were known radical islamist, that have advertised radical views *in the past* about how women without the hijab were women without honor, or that women should not refuse to give themselves to their husband, stuff like that. Some people had even tried to prohibit the event prior to its opening. In any case, the Femen were out of line, like always, and even though i'm simpathetic to their message, the way they do it is just stupid. Also, the guy in the video trying to kick the femen as she was escorted out of the room and without being able to defend herself is also a complete idiot.
