Hello guys

I wanted to draw your attention that you can now see the final bots play in the Warlight AI challenge 2.

http://theaigames.com/competitions/warlight-ai-challenge-2/leaderboard/global/a/

Sadly this challenge got very little attention from the WarLight community. The top bots have improved greatly in the last couple of weeks. The top coders from the first Warlight AI challenge, namely AdsRiskbot and GreenTea are also my favorites to win this challenge while my bot doesn't belong to the real favorites this time.

When watching games between Anil8 and GreenTea you can see some really beautiful board understanding.

TheAIgames.com? Sounds interesting... I can program bots for a game to face off against other bots? Awesome.... this is a cool website :D

GreenTea's bot is awesome!
i think it can easily beat any 1700 rated player on real-time ladder
those order delays, efficiency in expansion, knowing exactly which bonus to take to gain map conrtol, calcluating exactly how much income the opponent can have and deploying accordingly and so much more

I wish we could test this!! Have an AI vs Humanity match, that would really be something. Maybe GreenTea could arrange it?

We should have sze defend humanity's honor. Maybe he will succeed where Kasparov failed

it was possible after the first challenge to play the winner bot, I hope that's possible this time too. Can't really compare it to the ladder though, since the Luck level is different, cards, picks etc. If green tea made on for strat 1v1 I'd definitely be better than what we see now.

Yeah, well, claiming that those bots could compete with a solid 1700 ranked human player is giving them way (waaaay) to much credit I'm afraid.

those order delays
Moving armies around is easy to implement.

,efficiency in expansion,
Weighing function for which bonus to take (income territory ratio, safety,...) Given a certain bonus it's not extremely hard to find the best expansion solution.

knowing exactly which bonus to take to gain map conrtol
Minimaxing during picking stage. Needs good weighing factors though. Maybe adjust them via something like a generic algorithm?

,calcluating exactly how much income the opponent can have and deploying accordingly and so much more
Once you show one of those bots your income it's quite easy for them to determine which bonuses you have. Knowing exactly how much armies to deploy is then a computer thing, they don't have any intuition, they just keep calculating stuff.

Currently the competition is closed due to the finals. However after that you can still participate.

If I were GreenTea, my 1st pick and 1st move would be probably the same. And after this counter even i would have trouble to come back.

EDIT: It looks like you can see enemy pics, so I would not fall for it after all :)

EDIT2: go, go GreenTea!

Hi!
Really bot not so strong.. It still mades many strange moves in some situations.
I only tried to learn in to play more rationle. But it predictable. So good human player which plays series of games with bot could learn all weak places and then use them in future games.
This is main difference between bot and human.

About integrating bots in warlight. I think its possible for some fixed template - with settings similar to warlight ai contest.

@Latnox: about last game.. Its very easy to predict that enemy could conter 1st turn bonus, but since not all players could do such conter (only top bots) i decided to disable this feature. Maby not very wise decision for the finals, we will see :)

How about this: you know enemy pics, so can you tell your bot to prevent counter only if there is adjacent territory, that can counter you directly ? Otherwise expand.
From all games I've watched, there is usually 1 FTB, so very unlikely you'll end up with your enemy finishing FTB when you try to prevent his counter. Plus you can just take bonus safely after that.

Hello

Here is the leaderboard that I already posted (with the old guy RealityBomb at the top btw. You just can't get rid of him no matter how many times you update your bot):
http://theaigames.com/competitions/warlight-ai-challenge-2/leaderboard/global/a/

The fastest way for me to see games is then: Click on a player name --> In the panel that opens to the right click on the bot name --> You see all games of that bot. In the query then click on the eye symbol to view a particular game.
