I'm not really sure what to think of this. The boy was definitely in the wrong, and should be told so. But sending a 13 year old to jail over a simple kiss? That's a crazy overreaction.

A detention and a stern talking to would of handled things a lot better, there was no need for the police in this case.

You realize this is one of those things that happen right? Literally everything has to have the cops involved. Parents over react about everything when it comes to their kids. But honestly you're right, a detention and a can of whoop ass would've been better. Oh well, now they've ruined two kids lives. Because one is now a sexual offender, the other is now going to be the girl that sent a boy to jail over kissing.

Second degree sexual assault. Over a kiss. On a dare. This doesn't even deserve to be questioned, so my following sentence will be a statement: What the f*ck.

This is fucking stupid. Zero common sense is in place here. "Yes let's jail a 13 year old kid for rape. Even though he legally cannot be responsible for his actions, let's put him in jail."

Though seriously, the boy deserves a punishment, but it wasn't sexual assault. A kiss can't be considered one, or a very mild one.

You have the potential to kill somebody else while driving at a young age. Let's say you do hit somebody with a car, let's say they die. Then what? Are the cops gonna jail you? I mean, come on kids are getting kicked of of schools because they hold poptarts like handguns...

I'm not denying driving is a useful skill I'm just saying America doesn't really have its priorities. We obsess over petty social issues and avoid the topics that really matter.

I got dared to touch a girl's boob once when I was 14. Trust me:
1. It was very hard to refuse (peer pressure)
2. I wouldn't have gone to jail for it.

People also have the potential to get Violent and kill someone because you're drunk and have lost your inhibitions as well as a bunch of other stuff.
I don't agree with the driving age being 15 rather I'd go with 17 (Prepared for college etc that way) and have all 15 - 17 year olds do lessons in road safety.

Anybody has the potential to kill while driving but I believe better education on the matter will drop fatalities in all age ranges.


Back on topic: I was never dared to do anything like that as a teen but then I was quite popular with the ladies for a nerd. Shame my good looks dropped as I hit my 20s xD! But back then (Jeez I feel old now) the world was a little more relaxed when it came to this sort of stuff... Or at least from what I remember of my teen years.

I have the potential to go out with a shotgun and kill people. But I don't. On a side note, what really pisses me off is when someone goes:
"This kid played (CoD, Battlefield, Halo, any game with violence at all), so obviously they got violent tendencies from the game so lets blame the game." This relates back to your point because sooner or later someone will say: "Oh, he played (GT, Forza, NFS, take your pick of games with cars in them) and that obviously made them think they couldn't die."

STOP TREATING KIDS LIKE FUCKING IDIOTS. I am perfectly sure that that boy had no sexual desire with that girl, and that he should have been given a detention. NOT A DAMN JAIL CELL. I mean I have done far worse things to people and had far less happen (1 day suspensions).
