I disagree. Richard Sharpe you are generalising younger people..

I would say 16 year olds would almost know more about politics than adults.

I honestly think voting is a bad way of doing things.. Cause people hardly get informed or know partys policys... As long as the grass grows they're happy..

I think you should have to take a test verifying you know the stances of the political parties. I don't vote at all though, so I wouldn't know (because voting doesn't matter)

Genghis, knowing the stances of the parties is meaningless. You should know the stances of the individuals, not the parties to which they belong.

One of the major problems with today's American politics is the voter who goes strictly on party lines. They don't actually think about a thing, just go down the line. Such people should have their votes revoked.

It's the same all around the world..

We all know one family in our neighbourhoods who will vote whoever is in a party for the simple reason they in that one party...

Why, exactly, would one need to study 1000+ politicians? The most I've ever seen on a ballot is ~10. After all, you can't vote in ballots outside your own district...

Well you have to understand each person of a party, because a party is very different from person to person after all. Or is that not so? You just said that's so.

I said studying the party line is pointless. You should instead study the individuals running under said party in your district. Pretty straightforward...

well, there are bound to be dozens of candidates. There is more than Republican or Democrat. But again, your vote doesn't matter anyway.

I never have, like I said. I view it as useless. It's like the lottery. Your one vote isn't going to push the sway of 3 million. So be it if everybody else does not vote, more power to them for being smart.

Whoa there, buddy. I'm the politics guy here. That aside:

We should keep major criminals from voting, as well as make people know who they are voting for. Raising the voting age is not good. I am old enough to get myself legally shot, I should think I am old enough to get a say in who my leader should be. And I don't think voting should be restricted from anybody who isn't a felon or too young, for voting is a great liberty. I do think that all people who are able to vote should vote, because I don't think half the US even fills out their ballots anymore.
