Even 10% is pretty bad. Let's assume that boot rate is equal to P(player will get booted from a specific game). So if you have a, say, 3v3 Europe with all players having a 10% boot rate, the odds of the game finishing without a single boot are just better than 1/2- about 53%. With 20% boot rate (which seems to be the going rate for RP/diplo clans), it's 26%. For a 10-player diplo, that's just an 11% chance that no one will get booted. Take it down to 7% (the going rate for strategic clans), and suddenly your odds of finishing a 3v3 without a boot go up to 65%. At 4% (the going rate for elite clans), that's nearly another 15% leap- you're now at 78%.

well yes i set my games minimum requirement to join is less then 8% boot rate in fact.

I can understand that a player with a poor connection that disconnects a lot might get booted in like 1/3 the games he plays, but more then that why bother playing?
It will piss you off much more then the fun you get from it.

I get pissed at every disconnect I have and they are rare.

I do not see any other valid excuse to have more then 30% boot rate.

My boot rate, which has been going down steadily recently, I am ashamed of. It's not due to being an unreliable player that gets booted - it's to do with playing realtime diplomacy games, where all players must accept a surrender. See a lot of the time, I just don't have time to play a realtime diplomacy - but what I was foolishly doing back then, was joining games thinking "eh, I'll play for about 10 turns, enjoy the game, and then leave", but not checking the settings to see if surrenders happen instantly. So, after surrendering, naturally not everyone will accept it - and I have to leave, I can't just stick around asking people to accept it, so I leave, and that's my boot rate up a little.

What I'm trying to say here, is - you can't expect my boot rate to be indicative of how reliable I am, as in most multiday games I am not booted. Definitely more than 9/10 of them.

Have you ever played Tribial wars? Game is (obviously) based on clan rating, and they solve it in quite an interesting way. Clans are measured by total points of top 40 players. Of course, if we'd like to implements something like this in WL, some corrections must've been made. Like for example decreasing this no. to 30 or even 20 (average members in each clan should be something around this). I think that would b e quite accurate rating, that gives you nice idea about lvl of certain clan.

Well, WL have something like "players with top points" rating, but it's so well hidden, that I wouldn't be surprised in around 50% of players doesn't even know about it.

hmm HumanTorch also seems inactive. Wondering why you haven't booted him yet.

I recruited him after this game: https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=9016025

He made some common mistakes but I saw promise in him (my MO was to recruit players I thought were motivated to play well and improve)- he reminded me of Dublin Warrior and Syraxis, so I invited him to the clan.

But it doesn't seem like he's lived up to that- he seems to have quit WL.
