In fizzers AMA someone complained about dashboard and asked for mygame/opengame tabs to be brought back. He responded by asking what we liked about the mygame/opengame or what we didnt like about dashboard so that he could change dashboard to make it good.

Give me suggestions and i will use my paint skills to make a mock up.

Make the Dashboard this way please

1. Link to open games in old place - update 3.10.1 is step forward, but it is still needed to scroll through my and promoted games to access it
2. option to customize game info icons (deciding which one i want to see) and/or replacing it with plain text (like in 'old' open games). Technically, there are now more information about game accessible from game list. In reality - i need to enter every game and check settings anyway, as all those pictures are hard to read and remember(at least for me). Also some of them can be misleading(FFA with X teams of 1 are marked with 'team game' icon)

The main problem I have with Dashboard is that it's just one list for everything. I think there should be a sub-tab inside the Dashboard that lets to go to a separate list for Open Games, My Games, and all the info boxes, because you're only ever want to look at one of the three at any given point.

If the dashboard were implemented to more or less look like Muli's dashboard script that would be great. Having all of those things handled natively by the page rather than having to rely on a client side script would be a huge improvement for me, and would obviously be great for those who don't even know the script exists.

my main problema is that it needs to load java every time i enter a game.

on the other hand, my computer has been runnign much better since the last change and i believe it is thanks to it

I dont see the problem with the dashboard. I used the dashboard since I joined Warlight and Im fine with it. Maybe you guys should try to get used to it.

Pink, I just wanted to say that you dont need to improve the dashboard, since you have everything you need there: Open games, your games and so on. You can simply get used to it if you are using it long enough.

There are two issues people have

1) clutter. I think a tab based approach would help here

2) performance. I'm not sure how tabs would change this, someone else needs to chime in on that.

Organization is a big issue. What most people like about the My Games tab is that it gave you your games page by page, and you could sort them however you want on those pages.

The Dashboard forces you to look through a giant list that's not as easy to organize.

well, let's assume nothing else was on that dashboard, or it was 'clutter free'. Is the issue really just having all your games on a single page?

If so, I'm not really sure what he can do there. Maybe set your filter do something that loads a smaller list? Personally I have no issue with my 20-25 games I have going at a time.

I never liked the multipage game list myself. I hated it when I had games on the 2nd page that I needed to make moves in because you can't get an accurate picture of what to manage all at once, especially if the sort wasn't quite right (the game that has been waiting the longest on page 2, for example). I much prefer a single page than a bunch myself. I see no issue in having to scroll myself.

If the issue is performance (load time), then I understand (though I don't experience it, I can see that is annoying). Again, maybe doing a different filter as the default would help? Maybe an option to turn off thumbnails? Not sure what causes the longer load for some people.

The problem is that Fizzer just wants to stick everything that Warlight has to offer on one page, under that restriction it's bound to become cluttered/filled and heavy loading.
