Mercer said this, so here is a new thread:

I don't want to hijack this thread. So please form a new thread. We could try your idea out, we can see how much support there is. Here are a few of the top requested features on Uservoice. Pick which one you want to see the most. If we have a committment of $5,000 in coins I can guarantee we will get that feature made within a month. Make a new thread with the feature and ask people to commit coins in the thread. (Donations of free coins we gave users are not allowed of course)

1) 3 v 3 Europe (no cards) Ladder
2) Peace Treaties
3) Able to see who is online
4) Add a "friends list" subset to the invite list
5) Overhall of Clan System
6) Multi-attack card
7) Deployment Limits: a Tactical Option (esp. for Multi-Attack Games)

So... If we want the developments? We have to donate... Which I can agree.. As it a lot of work to put in a feature. Would totally donate.. But not rich.. Money is scarce for me :(

New features are not worth 5000$. If he meant 5000 coins, that's totally different.

So, if I am reading this correctly, if users donated 5k, then you'd hire a developer to implement X number of features (depends on difficulty I am sure)?

What if users who are developers are willing to donate their time? I've expressed that in the past, I know a few more on here as well. Some I am sure I would not be able to help with, but I am sure some I can.

That being said, I hope some people take your suggested route as well. They do not have to be mutually exclusive.

I agree Ben, I don't think we'd find $5,000 in coins. No way we can pool 500,000 coins together...assuming you could get people to agree on a priority feature. It is hard to know how many coins are out there, since it is not shown on your public profile.

MotD, Beren, Kryzchu I think have all said they would develop for free.

$5000 is a little optimistic... I think people are much more likely to donate their time.

The trouble is not all of those are equal in amount of work. I'm quite sure we could do a 3v3 ladder pretty easily with a group of us.

Something like Peace Treaties might be much harder. If Mercer could attach a solid estimate next to each item, then he might get some takers on donating.

Bump, since someone started another thread. So much OT crap that pushes real threads down. Can we promote this discussion?

Fizzer has already explained the problem with people who are willing to donate their time in his AMA

Where? I must have missed it. Or explain the problem so we know.

If I remember correctly he said the problem was that players often think they want to do it for free or that they want to donate their time, but once they have started to work on it they realise they don`t accually wanted to do it and Fizzer ends up with some random parts, but not the full thing.

^ and that's why open source projects always fail

Ok, so you want 500,000 coins? No damn way. I payed this game already. And that's the problem. Most of the forum posters have already given this game money in some form.

5000 is a lot for some things that we will end up getting anyways in the future based on new updates.

500,000 coins. But still, $5k would easily cover early server costs if someone wants to make a WL clone...

No, no, no. What is everyone thinking?
If it's rushed, it's going to be crappy and precisely only what the uservoice feature is. Not to mention 5,000 USD is loads.

Min, why should that matter. Either it works or not. If not he does not use it. How much time of his would be wasted?

Anyone know the estimated value of this site/WarZone, LLC? Just curious. Maybe the user community could buy out the company instead if it's not too expensive. $5k isn't that bad but paying small amounts repeatedly will probably not be as smart as making one big payment once.

Just a crazy, stupid idea.
