You know ya could move warlight to steam and connect your account to warlight that way you can change it as much as you want.

I'm not faulting Fizzer for trying to make WL financially viable. My point was that, if he is currently generating a fair amount of revenue from the name changes, it is likely that he would wish to continue doing so, and would be less inclined to make free name changes more frequently. If very little income is derived from it (what is it, like $3-$4) - then he may be more inclined to make free name changes more available.
At the end of the day, if WL does not generate enough revenue, eventually it will go away, and that would be a shame for all of us (most of all Fizzer).

Fizzed said in an interview with Lolowut in an old stream I watched that when he quit his job to focus on warlight, he was initially losing money, but would eventually start making money. According to a link TBest gave at some point, warlight is worth ~180K.

Cool. Fizzer could sell us and become a junkie.

Fizzer was losing money the whole time warlight has been playable since it started (2011 maybe?) to when the adverts first came onto the website - because he had to pay for the servers for everyone to play on, yet the money from memberships was not covering his costs.

This is one of the reasons many people bought memberships before the large changes, to try and help Fizzer financially and keep the game online and here to play. However I see it as very unlikely that the site is losing money now (with ads) and he will have to bring it down, so that wouldn't really be a reason to change the name changing rules (imo).
