He either had my map file from Fizzer or he simply redrawn the whole map. The teritorries on my map are geographically correct, while on his version they are simplified so i guess he copied it by himself.

And no, he did not have my permission. I was informed about map's existence today by somebody else.

what's the licensing requirements for submitting a map to warlight? i was under the impression it's creative commons by-nc-sa, letting people do free derivative work, but i could have hallucinated that licensing part.

do all maps on warlight credit the original map source btw?

from the chat log, i wonder how RA is "secured" from ppl ripping his "ideas", redrawing his maps and re-submitting them to warlight as original author.

That was really shitty of him, but I don't think you should really be pissed at me for not letting you know since your version wasn't actually public.

Imperator - why should anyone be pissed on you for this? Unless you're a RA's alt... And I don't see how someones intellectual property is less valuable just because it's "only" 99% finished.

By the way, I'm downvoting this map, and I encourage everyone to do the same. Fridge said, that he'll finish his map after this, so we'll have the "original" version available pretty soon.

So what if he redrawn the map? Why it should bother a regular player like me? As for me, whenever a good map is made, no matter by which means, is good.

People try to make the best content possible, and not for money - for free. Why should you "sue" someone who made a similar to yours map? Make a better one so people will play it and not his map. He did not steal your money or anything and even credited you, so why you bother?

Because someone was a thief an nobody likes to have stuff stolen? You wouldn't like it if you created art and someone stole it after you'd trusted them to help test/admire it.
