Varsovians are fed up with the six-year occupation and unfair treatment compared to other conquered countries. The Germans turned Poland into a penal colony of Europe: Auschwitz, Treblinka and ghettos.

Moreover, the Soviet Union is approaching the capital with the menace of communism and further repressions.

The Polish Underground State will not sit idly by. It prefers to fight the invader and taste the breeze of freedom than to watch the steel giants compete with each other for influence.
