You have played tons, yes, but I speak of skill, not quantity.... you need to work on your ladder stats. By all means, do be offended. :)
Do you ever consider that the majority of players not only aren't on the ladder, but don't care to have to log on every day?
My boot rate is bad as it is (cause of my schedule) don't need it higher.
There's a difference between playing a lot of games and actually playing WL in the sense that you start improving and learning from better players who help you catch your rookie mistakes. Just saying that because about 3 months ago I thought I knew how to play WL and my low win rate was a "mistake" but it turned out that I just wasn't actually playing the game itself, at least not the way it should be played.
Wrong.
Many, many people don't necessarily care about improvement; they care about playing for fun.
Your definition of "actually playing WL" doesn't necessarily fit others.
Could I play a lot better, strategically, than I do? Yes, definitely.
But, honestly, the only time I take WL seriously is in the few coin games I've played with the 100 coins i received for free.
I'm neither. I am simply a casual warlight player. I like going on the forums because it is an interesting environment. So what if i don't play the game seeking to be the best, i have fun playing diplomacy, or fun little custom scenarios or little games-within-games. This game isn't meant to be played in any single, set way. It's a feature that is glued to the game : having it your way.
When you say you're not an elitist and then bash people who don't play the game the way you do, it really makes you sound like an elitist.
Entire agree with above statement.
It's maybe also worth noting that there is a higher than expected number of computer scientists, mathematicians, statisticians, engineers, programmers here as well as a bunch of (under)grad students and high school students with a background in exact and applied science.
Go to almost any massively multiplayer online game (mmog), and look for a while, and you will generally find the same thing.
