Not all - most likely not even most. But there are the uneducated masses - and this is obviously an exaggeration.

Only way to fairly judge the olympics is to divide the golds by population.

USA comes 27th.

Also Grenada is a superpower.

Also, if Europe became a "United States of Europe" then it would far out-strip every other country as a super power. Most countries in the EU can pretty much hold their own as it is. Especially UK, Germany and France.

I agree, but there is too much opposition to this - see everyone who thinks that Italy, Greece, Portugal and Cyprus are "protectorates". This is often called the "EUSSR".

Also, about your olympics - Russia isn't that bad, but it isn't shown for some reason.

You have to figure out some things for yourself, powerful when it comes to politics. The worst thing you can listen to is to a biased account - Joseph Nye, maybe for America, did pioneer International Relations, but, you know, in some big American university, they have a former general teaching International Relations - these are just paid propoganda spreaders.

Mmk, so what would constitute a non-propaganda source? Someone from a Russian/Chinese University that agrees with you?

Not that I'm trying to argue what those lists say or anything, but what does this have to do with the U.S.A. being a superpower?

And also, this more of an off-topic thing.

That's what I'm saying not to listen to - university sources.

Most people who do educated research on things do so through a university, since you're not happy with his sources, then perhaps show us what source you think is correct/unbiased?

This is a stupid thread.

US leadership has been doing everything possible to screw us over, but is and was 'the' superpower. Most beautiful women?? gtfo.

I am consistently amazed how stupid people assume that free/cheap healthcare in other countries are actually free/cheap. They ignore the 50%+ tax rate which pays for it because they have low/no income and never notice. Inefficient? Here we wait 30 minutes in an emergency, not 12-24hrs or more during which time we die. Well then, you're lucky you were born where you were then :)

Lets just say, lets both be happy. Anyone who doesn't like someone else's country, well, be glad you weren't born there. And anyone who doesn't like their country, well then move.

Sorted.

Most encyclopaediae are axiomatically unbiased. I know most of what I know from reading (neutral) biographies, Wikipedia (which is filled with sources in itself) and Britannica.

Wikipedia is a nice source, but it should not be respected unless the article has proper citation. It's just how people are about it.

Don't go to the Shanghai or Guangdong area - then you should be fine.

China are literally going to run out of clean water in their country soon. "then you should be fine", no it's not just pollution. Their terrible environment is worsening their fundamental resources, like WATER. They need a serious improvement to how they treat their environment, otherwise their country will suffer extreme economical losses.
