Hi...its my first post here...

I'm trying to create a custom game based on somebody's map (a HUGE world map), but I am trying to keep things confined to make the game work (and be fun still). I assigned the slots (and I went through over 1000 territories manually, before I realized that selecting the larger territories like, Asia, North Am. select all of them....derp) But I do that, and set all the slots.

A for me, B thru L for the AIs. I keep them far apart to grow a bit, but also no isolated to grow unobstructed and win. This was my issue with the original map, as 4 AI's would all be around me, and one of them out in Asia alone to grow.

No matter what I do, the slots don't work. They only seem to work if I pick just ONE territory per slot. If I do bigger areas, it falls apart. I never thought, maybe Neutral means up for graps, so I covered the entire map, and still nothing. They will all be around me, with one solo AI in Asia. Its so disheartening...

I tried finding stuff on the forum to not duplicated but I can't find anything.

As far as settings. In Distr. I set Custom scenario, went through the map. I have Players choose their starting position from any territory with a slot. I limit territories to just one.

But nothing...they simply will not obey the slots. Even when I begin, it doesnt give me my slots, but ALL slots combined (that darker green when you pick your starting point) So does this mean that slots are pointless? Do they all just add up and its irrelevant? Is that why single slots words, because everyone can only be in 12 slots, so 12 players fit...

I really don't know...I'm not the best player. I normally would have been happy to shut up and not bother anyone. But I even struggled to get up to level 23 so I could add the espionage card (to see if one of the players was too big to even try to play hours before realizing it was hopeless....I even gave myself 12 espionage cards to start, just to see where the AIs before a first turn passes. Im sorry...Im rambling.

If anyone has a hint or clue about the slot problem I would appreciate it...

I just noticed now...and not sure when this happened, but I don't see the letters on the sides of each player for the slots. Before it was there, but now its gone! I don't know hwat I did to make it not be there!

It's because you did this:

I have Players choose their starting position from any territory with a slot


Go to distribution and set "Assign a slot directly to each player" and you'll get the options to assign slots again
