I like the idea, but I don't agree with the idea that it is a win/win (/win). Not a huge fan of ads, particularly intrusive ones, it's bad enough that they are present at the bottom, and distracting. Not to mention that ad blocking doesn't get you anywhere because it pops up with messages saying it failed to display an ad, and your points gained are significantly reduced. Why I disagree with their implementation as a source of income like this is a topic for another thread, but the point is, unless it's off to the side and out of the way, it will significantly decrease the user experience. I have already almost quit playing numerous times because of getting fed up with the ads. If this is implemented in a way that is equally intrusive, I don't think I'll be able to take it anymore.

Membership would solve that problem Daniel. No adds or popups just a blank space, and you keep your full points. It's not much either and supports Fizzer.

Although it is the only real benefit you get for it. Fizzer stopped true membership perks when he introduced levels.

Like I said, the reasons for my disagreement are extensive, and deserve an entirely separate forum post (edit: here's the link https://www.warlight.net/Forum/85674-ad-blocking-warlight), but the reason I don't have a membership is I'm not exactly an adult with a job, and my parent's would never pay for something like this. There are still further complications preventing me from becoming a member, but that is the largest.

What I was trying to get at is that if he were to implement this, he should do so carefully, or he might push away more players, including me.

Daniel macIntosh it isn't meant to be a popup where it asks you wheter you want to watch ads for coins.

An option on the dashboard or even on the coin page where you can take this offer wouldn't distract anyone and can still easily be found.

Nobody is forced to take the offer. Just an option for those who have no coins.

Master: I absolutely agree with that implementation, and still like the idea. I might even use it myself, but ultimately, it would be up to Fizzer how he chooses to implement it, and given how he's implemented ads, I'm not the most confident he would do it the way you suggested.

Daniel: If you don't like the non intrusive ads that exist here already then buy a membership.

I play on a 1024x768 screen, the ad at the bottom isn't exactly small for my screen size. The ad really isn't a bother unless you really are expecting this game for free forever.

+1 on Master, that's what I was thinking. PWE do/did this already and it can work well.
