The time cost to upgrade an artifact from Rare to Epic is 2 days (48 hours). Some artifacts have a 16 hour cool down after use.


In this scenario we use an artifact that has a 16 hour cool down then start an upgrade to the artifact as soon as the artifact has been used. Does the upgrade now take 2 days upgrade + 16 hours cool down (64 hours) or is the cool down encapsulated in the upgrade time? This would mean the first 16 hours cool down time is concurrent with upgrade time making total cool down/upgrade time 2 days (48 hours).

I don’t believe you can upgrade an artifact that is cooling down. You can’t sacrifice one at least.

Ok just tried this and in fact you can do it and cool down has no effect.

Yes, SoG, you are correct.

I used an artifact (ACB) which has a 16 hour cool down. Then I kicked-off an upgrade and see the cool down takes place concurrent to the upgrade time.

Oops, I meant SAC.

Just want to say that if you're willing to a regular clan war participator, it's easy enough to get into a clan where a clan reward gives you just over an 8 hour cooldown rather than 16. Definitely makes things a lot faster, especially when you have a good Time Warp artifact.

How would I join a clan and what are my responsibilities to the clan once joined?

That depends on the clan. If you're mainly here for Idle, TLA is a good choice of clan.

Other good Idle clans are simply named Idle.
Harmony is also a good clan for idle players.

Usually having regular clan wars matches is a requirement in an active clan where you get the best idle bonuses. You can look at the rewards you get and see which clans have enough to win them.

The artifact cooldown bonus is via 15 wins in CW.

I see you joined Excel which is great for idle players not wanting to play clan wars, but that means those bonuses don't come often. But it's good to see if you like playing clan wars from there. It's a low ranked clan so the pressure and competition is low.
