In a game with random move order, you should respect your opponent.

What do I mean by that? Well, that's a very good question and thank you for asking.

As an example, let's say you are running from your opponent's stack, and you got first move on your opponent for 3 turns in a row. As a show of respect, you should NOT try to run away for a FOURTH FUCKING TIME and pray you get lucky. This is not skill.

Thank you.

I'd argued skill is to best use the settings to your advantage in the realm of sportsmanship.

so for example don't boot someone if he says he needs more time once, or don't stall a game forever because you are losing.

in your example I'd say running from the stack for the fourth time seems reasonable and valid strategy in some cases, namely as long as it isn't used to prolonged a sure lost game

Well from the initial statement we can understand that we don't have to respect our opponent if the game isnt random move order.

Also it made me curious about the game, because it probably means somehow giving double first order elsewhere in the game was fine for 3 turns in a row, which is entirely possible but still, sounds interesting enough for me.

What the OP describes is just bad play

Players should make the best move available to them based on the state of the board on that turn. In a random move order game, whether something happened last turn or 10 turns ago is irrelevant to the state of the board at that moment.

Respecting your opponent is about making the best possible move and forcing them to outplay your best efforts

There’s a separate topic about whether random move order is a ‘good’ or ‘strategic’ setting… I would personally never design a template with this setting

Make the best move available to you. Only losers blame luck for their losses.

I dunno. Is it good sportsmanship in SE1W to place a “gg” comment in the chat after the distribution when you win the coin flip and know you have the game won? I think not, and slow played my opponent in my loss for what I considered a breach of etiquette. Maybe just stick with the Golden Rule and treat others in a manner in which you would like to be treated.
