Twitch chat had 2 interesting convo's going on (watch stream for those, I'm not gonna type those out):

1. New player had an issue with their first multi player game where there was confusion about when turn advances and when it is the players turn. This turned into a discussion about the way new players are introduced to multi player.

2. BlackBart and Fizzer discussed the need for (clarification about) realtime nudges. BB believes they are urgently needed, Fizzer believes that sending another notification after they missed the first one doesn't help in RT games. Most interesting takeway from me personally was that Fizzer considered adding desktop notifications to the website, so players in browser could get the game started notification as well.

Would you consider adding more functionality to the new mod pages? I'm thinking of things like more data for everyone (in how many games has the mod been used, maybe even crash rate), bug/crash reporting, extensive mod documentation/manuals, feature requests but then solely for the mod, etc.

Yeah now that each mod has its own page we could definitely do something with that. Your ideas are all good ideas. One of the things I wanted to add for the update, but couldn't add due to lack of time, was mod ratings and review, just like the map pages have.

There are more mods trusted for mega games than there are for tournaments.
Will the available mods for tournaments be expanded in the future too?

There are 18 mods supported for tournaments, and 15 for mega games, so this isn't actually true.
Mega game mods are approved based on their performance.
Tournament mods have different requirements.
If you believe there are mods that should be allowed in tournaments, send me a mail about it. If it's an unknown game, please show off the mod with an example game.

Do you have an insight for us what the maximum execution speed is you allowed?

A mega game has the same timeout as a normal game: 65 seconds.
This is for all mods in the game combined. If you have 400 players you have a lot of orders, so mods that loop a lot can easily go over that. This limit might be raised specifically for mega games, as we are in an information gathering phase with regards to modded mega games. We just need to see how long modded mega games actually take to advance, and if more mods can be added or if WZ needs to be made more performant perhaps.

Noticed that the settings page does not show the icon next to the mod name (Forts mod has an icon). Potential improvement or is this not possible?

Yes, I agree it should be there. I didn't have time to get this done in time for the update. I think the settings screen in general needs an overhaul, so I will add the icons when I do that.

Can you spare like 5 minutes breaking down how that cw match making works..

The new system matches a random player from the clan with the highest number of unmatched players on the template first.
For that player, it then picks a random player from the clan with the closest clan rating to match them against.
Repeat until all players are given a game or no more games are possible.
Then award Free Wins or No Games for the remaining players.

See https://youtu.be/S4ECYd9Ymzk?t=4587 (example timeslot used: https://www.warzone.com/Clans/War?ID=62&Timeslot=9151)

Would be even better if mod info contained a link to the appropriate wiki page. The mod description seems to have a character limit before truncating and can only use plain text (no formatting options).

I agree there should be formatting options on a mod page, make a feature request for that.
I don't think the wiki is the best place for information on mods, since that would send people outside of the app.
So I would rather seen an in-app solution for displaying this information.

How is the lawsuit going? Did that court hearing already happen, or was that next month?

I can't say anything about the specifics. Last stream the trial was scheduled for May, but this has been postponed and is still unscheduled.

Will there ever be an option to buy idle premium as a lifetime purchase like you can for a membership?

No, that is not something I am currently planning.

clan war benefit that you get to increase 40 person limit

Clans are limited to 50 people currently. If you want something that you can win to increase the limits, that is not something that currently exists. It's probably not going to happen, but you can make a feature request for this, as it is not entirely unreasonable.

Have you considered that Easter Sunday might be a time where people are busy with other things, and that it therefor is perhaps not the ideal time to do a AMA stream?

I did not realize it was Easter Sunday. Usually I try to schedule the streams a couple days after the update. In the past people complained about the streams always being on monday, so I figured I would stream on a sunday this time. We do have lower participation today, but people can watch it back on Youtube if they missed it. In the future I will try to avoid streaming on holidays.

With the more widespread adoption of machine learning, will you consider hosting another another WZ AI competition?

I remember there being such a competition many years ago, but those were mostly based on manually coded logic.
Did that competition come with a simulation for WZ?
If so, is that still available?
Otherwise, will you release some sort of simulation for Warzone so that people can train their own ML models?

I did not host the AI competition, that was done by a 3rd party. I did open source the current AI that Warzone uses.
The simulation for that competition was made by the 3rd party, and I think their website shut down. You might be able to track them down and get their stuff.
Training ML models for Warzone is something I am interested in, but I don't know how to make a model that works well on a GPU.
[Editors note: see https://www.warzone.com/Forum/820207-bot-api-exist ]

You could theoretically train AIs using ladder games, clan war games, quickmatch games and your own games.

I'm not sure that would be a more effective solution than training an AI against itself. This will learn from humans, but I will not discover ground breaking new techniques that no human ever considered.
