I started this one a while ago, then Blortis stole my thunder and made pangea ultimate :)

Anyway, I did some more work on it and I think it is ready to deploy. Please take a look and let me know what you think:

https://www.warlight.net/SinglePlayer?PreviewMap=36393

I think it plays pretty well 1v1, though I am not sure the best settings...

-Strategic 1v1 settings (with %0 SR)?
-Turkey Seasonal settings?
-Smaller wastelands of 3 (like Szeurope)?

Those don't affect the map being ready, but I always like to include some templates on my map pages so people can jump right in and have fun.

maybe make some of the borders seamless, though its not a huge issue.

Yeah, I have gotten much better at drawing maps (doing it in different set of steps). Before (as on this one), I ended up with a lot of extra nodes from doing freehand lines. I am doing much more straight line drawing now that limits nodes. Sure, you can use simplify, but a couple clicks of that can really distort things. I wish you could simplify a single edge and not the entire polygon.

i think it would only take you like 10 min to edit the nodes by hand, but again it isnt a huge issue anyway. there are a lot of other maps that suffer far more than this one.

Yeah, I just cleaned up some before posting this. I can work on that some more before I submit public. Just curious if there is anything else to do as well.

What's your next project Chris? I'd like to beat you to the punch again. Seriously though I was wondering when this map would come out. I felt kinda bad when you didn't release it.

edit: I expect an invite to the release tournament.

Iran is connected to yucatan while the yellow line is connected from Iran to Mexico.
Some test games would erase all possible errors in the map :)

Looks like a nice strategic map, i like bonuses with different ratios!

Here is what i found:

- Borders are a bit clumsy in some parts, I don't pay much attention to art and design but most people do, so i suggest to polish them and make them more appealing

- Iran doesn't connect to Mexico, it connects to Yucatan instead

- Xinjang doesn't connect to Urals and Irkutsk and it isn't clear if it does or does not from the map

One more thing to change, the font you used for the seas is really boring. Can you change it?

I like it. Iran should connect to mexico instead of Yucatan though if you go by the line you drew. Edit: Haha, looks like the other people above me caught this already.

Thanks, i will make fixes tomorrow.

Blortis, i am doing a very different map (i have not seen one similar). I am probably half way done, but i like how it is going so far. Only Ineffable has seen it.

very nice map. with a good size for strategic games. Although, I agree with MrOoblings suggestion. Furthermore; Why did you connect the north and south pole with eachother? Even the connection all over the ocean isnt 'realistic'. I guess it is for competitive values, but maybe smaller water connections along the shore line would do the job as well. I know you dislike super bonusses, but you could also include Baltica, Laurentia, Avalonia, Gondwana, some terrans and maybe also Laurussia (Old Red). Are you sure about the Tethys? Im pretty sure it first arises after the rift process and was equatorial located in between Gondwana and Laurussia.

Well, I connected over the oceans for strategic purposes. I wasn't sure it would play very well without them. Where are you finding those names Ranek?

http://odre.usal.es/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/Graphical.jpg Laurentia is here only the southern part of the northern continent. All northern continental plates are Laurussia.

http://gsabulletin.gsapubs.org/content/125/5-6/643/F8.large.jpg Arm is meant to be Armorica or Amorican Terrane

http://www.jamestown-ri.info/gondwana_500ma_small.gif This is maybe a bit confusing. rotate it anti clockwise and imagine, how the devided parts would fit together.

Iberian should be Iberia and the Andes didnt excist during that time period. You could also change Amazon to Amazonia.

Ranek - I am not opposed to having super bonuses available (they can be set to 0 as a default). I will maybe add those. I used to have North South America and South South America, but it was suggested to alter those (I changed to Andes and Amazon, but you are correct the Andes would not exist until the pacific plate pushed them up during continental drift). What would you call that bonus?

I fixed Iran/Mexico. I had redrawn the connectors before because some got resized funny and drew to the wrong place...thanks for catching that guys.

Made the china/siberia connections (or lack of in this case) more clear.
