I joined the real-time ladder, and have discovered I am an idiot. I shall correct this.

Today is the first of seven I will devote to learning the first template, China 1v1: https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?TemplateID=514266. I will set up real-time games, maybe a short tournament or two, and take notes. If anyone is skilled enough on this template to give me some advice, please do so. I'm all ears. :)

Don't try to learn specific templates, rather try to learn general rules that'll help you understand any template just by reading the settings.

Thank you for the advice. I am indeed working on learning general ideas associated with settings and skill, however, since I am new to the real-time ladder and am faced with a bunch of new maps, I feel that I must work on establishing some kind of familiarity with each template's ideas.

I have set up a series of small three-person tournaments on China 1v1; all are welcome to join.

2: https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?TournamentID=13782
3: https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?TournamentID=13783

Each tournament will only be 2 games playing side-by-side, so it should not take much time. Thank you to all who will join.

I agree with the general sentiment behind this statement. However, if you want to play games in real-time and the amount of time available to study a map in detail is short, you must have some familiarity with the map.

@Between Being and Ego
Your tourneys all filled up too quickly :/
If you want to play in RT with me, feel free to setup a game.

Training with better players will make you understand the ground rules of the game. Even when it is on specific templates. Happy to help mate :)

Thank you for the help, everyone! Still a few more days to go before I switch to a new template. This has definitely helped me understand China 1v1.
