We've tried petitioning and its not going to work. Do you like the game for its name or for its content?

I think that Fizzer must listen to us also.
Ofc i will continu tu play if it's become warzone but really a bad name ! I don't known what Fizzer smoke for want change the name of his game after 7 year... But must be a good one ! :)

He already explained several times for why he wants to change the name.

The problem is he doesn't own the www.warlight.com domain, someone else does and they won't sell it. So he has to change the name. While I agree Warzone isn't a good name for the game, he at least can own the .com domain that way.

Yes Lolowut, but there is no real problem with keeping a .net domain. I don't understand why the website needs to shift to a .com domain. The search engines list Warlight highest now and the name has a ring to it.

After the name change, I'm still going to refer to this game as WarLight.

Personally, I agree that Warzone is a terrible name and the game should continue to be called Warlight.

However, that being said, I've never yet seen Fizzer back down when he's decided to change something and if he hasn't changed his mind yet he's probably not going to.

I don't understand why everyone is harsh on Fizzer.
yes, I agree that warzone is not an original game, and of course I prefer "warlight".
but who cares about the name?
Fizzer isn't changing the name because he thinks "warzone" is a better name (if that was the reason, I would understand all these petitions), but for marketing reasons, like lolowut explained. the game will remain perfect as it is. this is just a stupid name. Fizzer should do whatever will help warlight grow. if this new name will do that, so be it.

This is too late. What all those who are complaining should have done long ago, instead of crying about why "warlight" is a perfect name that shouldn't be changed, was to suggest a better name. Then Fizzer would listen to you.

To be fair, there was a huge outcry against the change when it was first announced. Most people gave up though when they realized Fizzer was still going to make the change anyways.

If we had known it was an issue and the name would have to be changed, we would have helped decide and set up polls etc.

My main problem with the name change is that if, like Fizzer wishes, it creates more revenue and players, that this game in it's current state will turn into a trolls paradise which will effectively kill off the players that enjoy playing now. There is no regulation on the forums or other things that go on.

Read what I wrote after. Of course he was going to change, because he NEEDS this change. He said that many times. He said he would love to keep it "warlight" but the .com is already taken and the one who has it won't sell it to him (read what lolowut said). The name change is for marketing reasons.

If that were done, what would stop people from purchasing those domain names, too? Then Fizzer would have been right back at square one. Less so, actually, because all the good names would have already been taken by people trying to make a buck.

also we don't have a choice. Eventually if nothing happens people shut up, same with trolls they either leave or you accept them

Never accept an asshole. It'll make your experience 100% worse. if Warlight becomes more troll like than it is, I can see a lot of the sensible people leaving. I hope people enjoy Pooncrew, as that is what I am talking about, children like that taking over this game.

Regulation people, it isn't hard. 2 Mods and this game would improve 10x. Then the new name change wouldn't be so much of an issue.

Everyone who types in www.warlight.com instead of www.warlight.net is going to be sent to the wrong site. .com is the most popular domain on the web. How do you not see the real problem with having only .net? This is a business now, it's not just a risk site that we all enjoy. If Fizzer is truly going to shift over to the business side, this is a change he has to make. The search engines listing warlight highest is a moot point. It will list whatever name Fizzer changes to as highest once he switches over to that domain.

like all you have to do is put a simple thing that if someone's name is too offensive you change it

If you are worried about all the troll clans and trolls becoming a problem, we could always just not play with them. Tighten control on clans, and play games between/with other respected clans. Post topics on your own forums, and contact clan leaders if you wish to say something to another clan.
