the problem with that template is that you can go for 1 and only 1 bonus in first 2 turns
if that is countered,you're dead
many times we dont find any bonus on that template which is perfectly safe from counters
1 neutrals make it necessary to expand on that template
there's no coming back from a slow start as well,once you get slow,you lose

Playing on treasure map is too long. The possibilities of picks are low. Battle Islands is much better.
