Hello!

Every week we vote on 5 maps, and the map with the most votes becomes the map of the week for the following week.

Go here to vote: https://www.WarLight.net/MapOfTheWeek/View?Week=6

You can use this thread to discuss the current vote. Tell us why you voted the way you did!

Breaking Green is my pick. Both fun and really visually appealing map. +, I helped testing it ;)

Battle Island 5 was my pick :) thanks for voting for it

Imperium Romanum this time, its a very balanced map
although i don't like luck associated with the template,0 luck games are good

This one is even, All maps have more than 4 on average rating. I suspect Breaking Green and Imperium Romanum will be 1st and 2nd though :p

Hennns is right, the other 3 are just too big to make auto-game on them ^

1. Imperium Romanum (Has 2 152 ratings, and as such clearly most played.)
2. - 4. Toss Up.

P.S I voted for Breaking Green

Don't vote based on what you want as an auto-game. I know he made the boot time way too short last week, but Fizzer has to alter the template. If he doesn't realise that this time round, that's his own silliness. Players make their own games on Map of the Week with better settings anyway.

I love the map of the week idea, but why do maps that don't get voted stay in the following week? Seems like it will takeforever to get some good maps in there if the changeover is so low

I voted again for Switzerland, I love that map. Althought the Indian Ocean seems a very solid map to play. Imperium Romanum is very popular but I think that map is too simple to play. Breaking green is visually the best map, but the connections aren't always clear to see.

@Chris, it's a fair system for the 2nd place map to appear again next week. Think how easy it is for the vote to become split if there's 2 similar maps. Say the final result was:

Map A 40%
Map B 35%
Map C 18%
Map D 4%
Map E 3%

But let's say that most of Map C voters prefer Map B to Map A. If Map C wasn't there and there was less popular Map F in place of Map C, then the results might look like this:

Map A 40%
Map B 52%
Map D 4%
Map E 3%
Map F 1%

So depending on what 3rd to 5th was, the order of the top 2 can easily change. I think it would be better if we ranked the maps in order of preference 1to5 in an AV system rather than the map that comes 2nd getting to come back next week.

I voted for my Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire of course :-)

But to be true... There is no chance for the map to reach the 1st, 2nd or even 3rd place.
So everyone, who would choose my map: Take Breaking Green!

· overwhelming Artwork
· much fun playing
· it's worth it

Maybe, you could make the voting for the map of the week preference voting. That way, it would be slightly more accurate, and the case Clement Attlee outlined above won't happen.

Yeah, I would rather see a threshold for 2nd place. What if 2nd place gets %7 of the vote? Why bring it back?

What if 1,2,3 are 30, 28, 27? Why not bring back 3rd? That map is out forever despite being 3 % points out of first

Building on John Smith's suggestion, here is an alternative voting scheme (called the Borda count): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borda_count

That way we avoid most situations discussed above whereby the introduction of new maps can skew the outcome of the vote. It also helps for the case where you have more than one map you like in a given week, since you vote not for one map, but rather choose an ordering of all five maps.

I like Breaking Green and Imperium Romanum both, but I have only played Breaking Green once so I voted for Imperium Romanum.

Instead of which map you guys prefer, I would really like to know why you prefer the map youve voted.
