Fizzer is as Fizzer does. Stop fuzzing about it. It won't be half as bad as the worst complainers think it will be.

All Hail The Fizzer!

1. Fizzer shouldn't do this though (though he can't be stopped)
2. Eating a pile of dog poop becomes fine after a month
3. Fizzer surely shouldn't do this without consulting the community
4. The new name sucks.

1. There is no moral imperative for him to not change the name.
2. I'm concerned about how you came to this bit of knowledge.
3. He has no moral imperative to consult the community. This is his community. We just play in it.
4. Yeah the new name sucks, but who really cares? I mean, at least we can spell it with English letters, so that kinda gives it a one up on your name...

1. There is the fact the name is so bad it is morally wrong...
2. I am distressed how YOU came by that piece of information.
3. If enough people get fed up and stop playing, then Fizzer becomes poor.
4. You can't talk either, your name is not English either...

Kain just said EXACTLY what I was thinking. I mean, I can understand the name WarLight could be bad but PLEASE, NO "Warzone". It just simply... sucks.

Even Fizzer can be wrong sometimes. The community can and should point out anything that appears to be a huge mistake.

Yet some people throw a fit if any of Fizzer's decisions are questioned.

Dang. But anyway, I really do think the name "Warlight" is better than "Warzone". Warlight makes this game Unique

Has anyone ever considered that maybe Fizzer wants it to be called Warzone because its so unoriginal? This might be a great way to attract some new people to the site. Granted, some might be put off by the name thinking its an fps (but honestly, who would play an fps from some random internet site?) but the same applied to Warlight now. It sounds a bit silly in retrospect, and not as casual as it sounds.

Honestly, I don't care what name its called, since its quite simply a great game either way!

You can still call it warlight. You can still even go to warlight.net to get to the game even after the namechange.

I doubt it'll affect any gamer except granting you a happy, elitist feeling about having played it when it was Warlight and not Warzone.

First, let's change the name of the forums to WHINE ZONE, since that best captures the tone here lately. Such a name will also warn new members to stay away from the whine-filled forums.

yeah, there should be a trophy: *played warzone, when it was called warlight* =D
By the way, I really dont know what all the fuss is good for. Do your panties pinch? You get an entire game for free, which is also maintained very well and you guys still complain. This is ridiculous.
Is there somewhere in the standard form contract said that you gain the right to decide about following upgrades, when you agree to the terms?

My apologies for going completely off topic, but:
The reason why I can even access this site is cuz of its original name.

In the not-even-that-distant past, there were two ways to get to a website: either you enter its name (technically: its domain, its URL) in your browser, or you click on a link to it (for instance from a search engine). Of course, that leaves only a single way for getting to a search engine: actually typing "google.com" into the address bar of your browser (or setting it as your homepage).
Then at some point, somebody figured "People use search engines all the time, and they're basically just a text box and a button... The browser already has those, so let's be efficient!" and they invented a very ugly hack, which (unfortunately, if you ask me) became very popular; when you enter something in your address bar which isn't a valid website address (such as typing "warlight") your browser is clever and, behind the scenes, goes to Google, asks Google to search for "warlight" and shows you the results. It sounds like this "new", third way of opening a site (by abusing the address bar for a search box) is the only method you are familiar with.
(Just try it, type "www.google.com" in your address bar, when it opens Google, type in "warlight" and see the same results show up as when you entered "warlight" in your address bar.)

Now, here's the trick: it makes no sense whatsoever to use a search engine when you're not actually searching for something; why search when you already know where you want to go!? So, instead of typing "warlight" in your address bar, try doing it "the old-fashioned way": type "warlight.net" instead and see what happens... No Google results page, no extra click needed, you go straight to the WL homepage!

If you visit WL often, maybe it's even easier to simply make a bookmark. Depending on which browser you use exactly, you can probably even use the name of the bookmark to open it (so you don't need to search through a big list of bookmarks; just name it "wl", type "wl" in your address bar and magic happens). For added ease-of-use, don't use "http://www.warlight.net" for the bookmark, but instead use "https://www.warlight.net/Dashboard"; that'll make you go straight to the new dashboard. It doesn't get any easier than that! :)

it'll also cost quite a bit to change the site's url... that is... if its even possible O_O

It's not possible to "change" a URL. However, it's very much possible (and only costs a couple dozen bucks or so) to start using an entirely new URL. How possible exactly? Well... here's your answer: http://www.warzone.com

Just type "w" in the browser box, and most likely warlight is the top result.

This also would hold true for warzone, since your browser keeps a list of the websites you visit most often, then checks that list before consulting Google/Bing/whatever your default search engine is (hopefully not trovi!). So if you visit warzone a lot, then typing "w" into your browser will have it as your top result.
