I am AP-wise ready for my first SAsc, but still in the process of digging artifacts.
One question, where I could find no answer is:
Can I do after SAsc ascensions right after EH, or is also the way to regular ascension now 17 levels longer?
Hex gives more AP than the last two Hardened levels, which are adviced to play on phase 4. Phase 4 I have reached in my first pass after 4 or 5 ascensions.

I'm 99.9% sure you still ascend after EH, but haven't gotten there yet myself. (Currently on Europe 1066 AD after my first SA.)

You can SAsc as soon as you have 100k AP in phase 4.

Even after your first super ascension, beating EH is enough to enable a normal ascension.

My runs usually look like this:
* Play all levels and most hard levels up until EH
* Have SL6 advancement and kick a sSL to jump to HEX (you really do not want to play the other super levels!)
* Play HEX twice
* Ascend
* Play some levels and most hard levels up until EH
* kick another sSL to jump to HEX
* Play HEX twice
* Repeat until you have collected enough AP to super again
