Hello!
I'm rather new to making Warlight maps.
These 2 maps are unfinished.

First, I made the small one.
https://www.warlight.net/SinglePlayer?PreviewMap=38046
Then I counted the provinces and thought that there is too little epicness in it. So I created the big one.
https://www.warlight.net/SinglePlayer?PreviewMap=39156

The big one is developed for diplo (roleplaying) games. It can be altered for team games though.

I have not tested these maps with living players and nobody has seen them yet. So please give me advice on what has to be changed to make them playable.

P.S. I have not made an adequate description for the maps yet nor for the distributions.

P.P.S.
The last version of the second map is here:

In the first map, Valley of the Wind and Zainab don't connect. Same with Vos and Indoranyon. It looks fine, just make sure to offset the bonus borders before publishing.

Thanks, Little Blue!
I thought I've fixed all the connections, but it seems I was wrong :)
And yes, the bonus borders seem to be overlapping. I'll see if I can fix that.

Second map, there's a lot of text for all the bonuses, I'd consider shrinking the text sizes down some so it doesn't feel so cluttered.

The bonuses at the very bottom-right of the map are difficult to access, since the zoom icons cover them up.

Missing Connections:
Pudai Egg Mine - Sarethi
Ebonheart Peninsula - Hawkmoth - Grand Council. Either missing connections, or you need to clarify that Ebonheart Peninsula only connects to Ebonheart, there aren't any connection lines there.

The Ghostfences aren't clear to me, I don't know what they are but they look like they are supposed to connect in places they don't.

They look good, I haven't looked at balance, but I'd love to play them when they are ready :)

Thanks for all your help, Little Blue!

The Ghostfence is really a magic wall, surrounding the central volcano. I won't connect diffrent parts of it, but you are right, it should be mentioned in the description.

I'll try to do something with the text.

And thanks for showing me the problems with the connections! I do not even understand how do you manage to find them so quickly! :)

The second map looks really good.

Pardon my isolation, but is this based on something?

Yes, of course.
It is based on the Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind game.

P.S. It seems nobody was able to see the maps after I made changes there. I've fixed it...

I need somebody to test the map... I don't think I should make it public before testing with real people, right?

Fantastic looking maps! I spent a lot of time playing Morrowind, it was the last RPG I played in fact. I'm a little busy to be testing maps at the moment I'm afraid, but I'll keep an eye on them as they develop!

Since the last SVG file was very heavy (almost 2 MB), I remade the map. I tried to use straight lines instead of curved and fixed some mistakes - now the file is less than 1 MB.

But another problem appeared - grafical glitches. Territories are often invisible (still they are there - they have names and i can select them) or have holes in them. I have this bug both in the editor screen and in the preview screen. :(

Does it happen only to me? Is it a problem of the warlight server or a problem of my map? What can I do to fix it?

P.S. I've fixed the Ghostfences so they don't look connected now.

The invisible territories happen when you have to disconected regions in a union. To solve it, you have to delete the union and instead you can have grey template territories.

Thanks, MrOobling!
Sad that the multi-part territories technology is buggy. I'll try to reduce the amount of such territories. I hope the rest won't be buggy any more, because I can't split them all.

When will it be available?

I hope to finish the map this week - not counting the testing. I'll test it with AIs, but I think I need to test it with real people too.

Well. the map is generally finished. Now it has to be balanced.

I'll put the link to it again here: https://www.warlight.net/Play?PreviewMap=39360

I was making this map first of all for roleplaying diplo games - with custom scenarios.
I'm not sure how to balance it for normal scenarios...

I had 2 scenarios in mind:

1) All major powers are present - including overpowered Dagoth Ur - and everybody has to cooperate to stop him. Like Westeros with White Walkers.

2) Opposite situation - there is no House Dagoth and the Red Mountain is filled with thousands of neutral troops - and all the game happens outside it.

In both scenarios the Ghostfence territories can be filled with a big amount of neutral troops to imitate the wall surrounding the Mountain. But it can be done either in custom scenario - or in a normal scenario, where all other lands are included in the distribution, while only the ghostfence territories are not. Then it is easy to set the amount of starting neutral armies outside the initial distribution.

Do I need to make this distribution? Or should I make just the normal distribution (for ffa games) and leave all this stuff for custom scenarios?

To say the truth, I haven't thought much about simple ffa games on this map. And I'm not sure how to make it balanced for this kind of games...
First of all I will probably have to make house Dagoth much weaker - if somebody wants to play a "white walker" scenario the bonuses for house Dagoth can be overriden...

Anyway, I'll be glad to accept any advice on this matter.

P.S. Am I right that I should never make the game public before it is really well balanced? I'm not sure I'll be able to find people for testing it - it could be much easier to make it public before the testing process is finished - and to upgrade it later...

P.P.S. I also have another kind of question. There are about 10 velothi towers scattered across the island. They are separate territories with a distinct special form (a tower with a dome). They all have a +2 bonus attached to them. Do I have to make a bonuslink for each of it or is it enough just to write about it in the map description? I'm not sure if these bonuslinks will make the map overfilled with links...

Ok, I think i've finished the balancing of the bonuses - at least now I'm not ashamed of offering to test it.

I've remade the territory bonuses - now there are 2 levels of such. Most low-level bonuses consist of only 5-7 territories. I've tried to balance these low-level bonuses, but in case I was not successful, you can modify them yourselves.

High-level territorial bonuses cost 4 armies per turn (I really do not know how to balance them) but again - you can modify them if you wish.

I've also added Ghostfence penalty bonuses to the 9 Ghostfence territories - I've set them to 0, but you can make games with a penalty for owning a section of the Ghostfence.

I've also set some of the bonuses of the house Dagoth to 0 and lowered some other bonuses of this house. If you want to play a "white-walker" style game (I mean the White Walkers from the Westeros map of Dameon) - you can make those bonuses much stronger. But in normal games it won't be superpowerful anymore.

I have already started a small testing game - I mean I've invited 3 players to a multiday game. But I will need more testers soon - first, I'm not sure those 3 players will respond - second, I want to test not only the main map, but also a custom scenario.

I really need help with making distributions. I have made only one - but I believe I should make more and somehow keep them all balanced...
